Beep, beep, be-. Spencer rolled over and shut the alarm off. For a moment he couldn't remember why it went off or how he had gotten here in the first place. Sitting up, he saw the backpack waiting expectantly next to the door. That's right, first day of high school today. The next things Spencer noticed were his clothes, which he had been wearing the previous day, and the faint smell of fish that clung to him.

The teen slowly rose from the bed, grabbed fresh clothes and walked to the nearest bathroom with a shower. Normally, he took his showers in the evening, but last night must have been an exception. I still can't figure out how I got to my room.

Undressing, again slowly, he turned the water on and waited for it to become warm. Spencer left the blue guitar pick on just to check if it was working properly and stepped into the shower; half expecting a repeat of yesterday. Thankfully, he remained standing and Spencer moved on to washing his hair. When the soap slid down his neck though, it stung.

"Dang it. Why…?" Only then did he recall one of the necklace's original purposes. Spencer gently touched the newly formed gills. So Billy finally got this right? He pondered yesterday's misadventures. It almost doesn't seem real. Am I really friends with a merman, who is being hunted by a crazy girl, and can perform magic? Spencer had never really thought about it like that before. Billy was just like any other normal friend; up until yesterday. Absolutely nothing about the previous day could be counted as normal.

After dressing himself, Spencer smelled food cooking and promptly headed for the kitchen. His family was already seated- minus his mother- and Billy was standing in a corner examining his nails. He looked like his normal human self except for a faint blue glow and semi transparency.

"I was wondering when you'd show up broham sandwich."

"Sorry I had to take a shower," declared Spencer.

"That's okay dear; the food wasn't ready earlier anyway." Spencer realized his mother or anyone else for that matter saw Billy.

"Since I'm not technically going to school with you, I figured I should remain invisible." The teen could only nod in reply. Jane placed the last of the food on the table and they began breakfast. It consisted of pancakes and bacon with orange juice. Throughout the meal Spencer made sure to discretely hand Billy bacon or a plain pancake. He didn't seem to mind quietly munching on the food and Billy even had some orange juice that rested on the counter to hopefully avoid the Wrights from noticing a floating glass. The family was too caught up talking about the upcoming school day to pay much attention though.

The walk to school was a drag. Normally, Spencer would have considered riding his bike, but it was still in a storage facility. The bus was another option, though when he wasn't too far from the school anyway; all that noise just wasn't worth it. Billy tried to cheer him up and it seemed he was trying to lighten the mood for himself too. The creature of the ocean had never strayed so far from it for long periods of time.

School wasn't at the forefront of the teenager's mind actually. He was actually more worried about Rajeev. How could he explain what was going on? Is he upset that I basically ditched him out of the blue?

Beverly Beverly High School is humongous. There's a football field, an atrium, the actual school and countless other buildings of unknown purpose. Many other kids were milling about, standing in groups. Spencer noticed a nice looking girl with reddish brown hair. Maybe they'll be in a class together. Passing through the doors, the inside was even more impressive than the outside. There were three levels of hallways and the building as a whole screamed 'expensive'.

"I-I don't think I can do this," Spencer stammered. BBHS was a big step from his old, public school.

"No worries Bromigo, you totes got this. You see all these people? None of them are nearly as cool as me and you're doin' just fine hanging with the BJC here," Billy grinned, taking a step backwards with a snap of his fingers. Despite his invisibility, intangibility happened only when he chooses to use it. That is why he knocked Rajeev off balance as he was heading in Spencer's direction.

"Yo, what gives?" exclaimed Rajeev, barely managing to keep his books from falling. "Do you think the school is haunted?"

"Pfft no way. Though it might make an interesting short film," Spencer covered up.

"Anyway, this is my sister: Shanilla." A girl with large, purple glasses was next to Rajeev.

"Hello Spencer. My bother has told me so much about you," she smiled, offering a hand. In turn, Spencer shook her hand. Billy had wondered off, randomly tapping someone on the shoulder so they'd turn around, confused and also silently judged everyone.

"Yeah, nice to meet you. So Rajeev, everything good? I'm sorry I never got back with you…"

"Eh, no problem. Hey, do ya know that girl over there?" He asked, pointing to a blonde in a blue dress. "Because I'm calling dibs."

"Eew gross Rajeev. I'm going to my locker. Bye Spencer," Shanilla smiled once more and walked away.

"You sure about that? She looks kinda-"

"Smokin' hot?"

"Sure buddy," Spencer shook his head. "Hey, I need to tell you something."

The bell rang.

"At lunch okay?" Suggested Rajeev.
