A/N: Even though I don't really ship these two; I had a thought of what they could have been if they were together.

Disclaimer: "Les Miserables' belongs to Victor Hugo.

Crowns of Patria

Enjolras & Cosette

.

her eyes are captivating

the definition

of an angel

.

he is intense

an invisible mask

of utmost courage

.

he loves the golden-haired beauty

in his own indifferent ways;

stiff kisses

& gazes at her through the gates

(but his love is ice-cold respect)

.

she loves him too;

he was her first love

he was everything that she wanted

(yet, her naivety got the best of her)

.

higher society is enthralled by them

after all, they are Parisian royalty;

a Lark for a princess

and

Apollo for a prince

(how does pride and appearance contribute to love?)

.

she is bourgeois, definitely

she knows there are many of those

that it's almost intimidating

she gives a new meaning to conventional

.

she may be just his prize

a pretty, delicate, glowing addition that holds onto his arm

what she doesn't know,

is that his passion for France is growing each passing hour.

(maybe that's why he's capable of being terrible)

.

apart

(only him, only her)

they are unyielding

.

with each other

(in their separate world together)

they are unconquerable

.

then again ~

if they are a Lark for a princess,

and Apollo for a prince

(wouldn't that be utterly satisfying?)

everyone else seems to think so

.

& maybe others will find true love

with cliche fairy tale endings

but they are idealistic

together, they are perfect without even trying

{pride and charm doesn't buy love?

alright, dearest, you keep telling yourself that.}

.

determination and loneliness

will help them find each other

but why should they?

They are Enjolras and Cosette,

but the revolution is near

so near, it's stirring the blood in their veins

.

she is the vision of a belle

a captivating smile, an enticing laughter

that never quite reaches her blue, wet eyes

.

he is especially farouche

sullen and morose in her company

boisterous in presence of Les Amis de l'ABC

he is so distracted by his magnifique country

their effortless love is as faux as their dreams of tomorrow

.

alone they are again,

until another man sweeps the pretty thing off her feet

Enjolras lost her

His friend found her

.

he holds up the blazing red flag

all merciless pistols are pointed at his stone chest

'Vive la Republique'

the freedom fighter's jacket is stained

his heart of ice shatters like glass as he falls

J'taime, Cosette.
