Author has written 10 stories for Naruto, Bleach, Hetalia - Axis Powers, and Detective Conan/Case Closed. Need to get to the more explicit versions of a chapter? Visit my Livejournal under the same pen-name: desperatembrace(dot)livejournal(dot)com/tag/navigation Writing Habit: I tend to do cliché kinds of ideas, but I usually twist and tweak them a bit so that they're a little different and more mine. I've basically died, y'all. Not really, but wow. Found a lot of my old writing and have started going through it. I had thought it had all been lost when my laptop fried way back when (like what, 2011? 2012?). Imagine my surprise (and fear) when my young nephew unearthed my laptop, salvaged the data from the hard-drive, and started going through everything asking, "Hey, can I have your old lap--wait, what's this?" Kill me. A lot has changed since I had last written anything on this site--it's been like 6 years so I should certainly hope so. I've gone from high school and am currently working on a Masters in Business, I have found my life partner in a man that I've been living with for... 4 years? now. I lost some friends (grew apart, lost trust) and very close loved ones (passed away) and been through a hell of a dark time in my life. I hope I've made it out the other side. I'm entertaining the idea of getting started on some more works, but to be completely honest, I don't think it will be in any of the fandoms that I had previous works in. It's been a long while since I've watched or read Bleach (largely due to both being completed) and even longer since Naruto. I read and watch Detective Conan from time to time but nowhere near as religiously as I had back then. I am very into One Piece right now, though. Like, almost obsessively so. Perhaps I will venture into that fandom one day. We'll see. To anyone who has spoken to me in the past and happens to pass through my dusty old profile by some miraculous chance: I'm alive. I'm currently well. I hope you are too. To any newcomers who are of a new generation or simply passing through beyond my time period: I hope you enjoy some of my (really) old writing, and maybe you'll get to see something new. --Katix 07/28/18 Literary Pet-Peeves: Then vs. Than Then indicates what happens next. Ex: And then he decided it would be nice to run. Than indicates a comparison. Ex: She thought walking would be better than running. Get it straight. Murmur vs. Mutter Muttering and murmuring are two different things! Really! Murmur indicates a smoother and quieter way of speaking. Ex: He murmured sweet nothings into her ear. Mutter indicates either sarcasm or quiet complaints and such. Ex: She muttered obscenities under her breath. Breathe vs. Breath Breathe is a verb. Not a noun. It is something you do with your lungs. Ex: Breathe in and then out. Breath is a noun. It is totally different from breathe. Truly. Ex: He let out a heavy breath. Loose vs. Lose Loose is an adjective. (Pronounced: "loos") It indicates an insecure bond. Ex: My shoe-lace is loose. Lose is a verb. (Pronounced: "looz") It indicates failure; the inability to 'make the cut'. Ex: This time is for real--It's either win or lose. It can also mean to have something go missing. Ex: I didn't mean to lose the jewel, honestly! Your vs. You're Your indicates the person's possession. It claims that the person whom is being spoken to owns whatever is being spoken about. Ex: Your bag is ripping at the corner. You're is a contraction. It means "you are" for short. Ex. You're so ridiculous. |
