Author has written 7 stories for RWBY, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Fate/stay night. Hey there, people. You might have guessed this already, but I write RWBY fanfiction. Honestly, I don't want to think that I'm a "good" writer right now. I just want to keep working to get better. Writing and storytelling is such an interesting topic for me that I can't help but want to explore it. On that note, I should let you all know that I am horribly inexperienced at writing at the moment. Aside from a few short stories and a few "first chapters" of stories that never left the ground, the stories on this account are what makes up most of my creative writing experience. As some smart person once said: "You haven't written your first word until you've written your millionth." (Unfortunately, I don't remember who said this) So strap in ladies and gents. It's gonna be a bumpy ~880,000 more words until I instantly become a genius. Future story ideas and notes Style Points Ever since Jaune had started his nightly spars with Pyrrha, he had quickly rose through the ranks of Beacon's first years, even managing to take a match off of Pyrrha herself. Arguably as strong as the champion herself, Jaune quickly takes his place as one of the strongest first-years at Beacon but when his grades come in at the end of the semester, he finds that his grades for combat are at the bottom of the class. Even after consulting Professor Goodwitch, she refuses to give him a higher grade though she can't actually explain why. Shockingly, everyone else agrees with her and nobody is on his side. Jaune is pretty special in that he's the most mundane fighter in RWBY. In fact, he's the only significant character (so not counting the goons, and the Atlesian soldiers) who doesn't have a "cool" fighting style or weapon. I plan to work with that and explain why it's actually something that is very important in the RWBY universe. This story actually wouldn't be a humor story, despite the ridiculousness of the entire concept. It probably won't be the next thing I write because out of all things, this is actually the story that would require the most foresight and planning. New Game Plus (Second Draft) Four years into the future, Jaune's semblance activates for the first time and he finds himself in the old JNPR dorm, face-to-face with his younger self. I actually wanted to do this with Blake, but then I realized that she'd be a pretty difficult character to work with due to her obsession with the White Fang. Yang and Weiss would be better options, but I feel like their personalities are way too strong in canon to be changed that drastically within a few years. Ruby has the most potential, but obviously I wanted to get as far away from Remnant's Reclaimer as possible since I'm already stealing so much. Pyrrha dies pretty early so it's impossible to use her four year older version, and I don't know enough about Ren/Nora to be comfortable messing with them. In the end, Jaune is absurdly malleable as a character so I'm using him out of convenience. I know that if I actually do write this story, it's probably not gonna get a lot of love due to the disgustingly high amount of time-travel Jaune fics, but oh well. Some Romance Thing Again, not the actual title. Don't know if I'm good enough to write pure romance without it being boring and I don't know whether I'm good enough to write romance into a different story while having it both organic and significant/required for the story. Tough call. Crosshares is my guilty pleasure so it might be that. Not too interested in any other pairing. Renegade Cop Nora Basically a comedy story where Nora runs around solving Beacon's various "criminal cases" and "mysteries." I'm already dedicated to The Mystique so it's unlikely that I'll start another comedy story, but I do have a few punchlines thought up that are pretty unique to this setting and unusable in others. If anything, this idea might develop into a series of one-shots in this setting, but not an actual story. I'd be pretty hard-pressed to actually think of a coherent storyline to go with this dumb idea. The Hero A story explaining Jaune's journey into becoming a "hero." Basically a super angsty edgy piece of garbage that I've been thinking of ever since the end of RWBY season 2, but when I tried to write it I got super side-tracked and wrote a completely off-track angsty edgy piece of garbage that was my first fanfiction (please don't read it. It's actually terrible). I do eventually want to give it a second go, but not make it as terrible. Which is honestly not a high bar to jump. The Mystique of Jaune Arc Obviously not a future story idea, but one thing I want to note is that if I do write another story, The Mystique's writing progress might not be as affected as you may think. The Mystique of Jaune Arc is a pretty unique situation for me because it's a comedy story, and I'm really boring. This means that the time it takes for me to think of a good punchline or get into the comedy mood is very variable and dependent on random chance. For example, it took me a month to write chapter two, but it also only took me two days to write chapter two. |
