Original Jutsu list:

Wind Release: Wind Scar - A C-rank ninjutsu that forms and throws wind blades, varying in number between one and ten depending on how much chakra is used. The blades can be dulled for a non-lethal attack, but the main reason Naruto uses this jutsu is because, like Temari's Wind Scythe, it can be fired from a weapon without hand seals. When used without a weapon, however, it requires hand seals.

Wind Release: Air Bullet - A weaker version of Shukaku's Drilling Air Bullet. Both are vastly weaker when used by a human instead of a Bijuu.

Wind Release: Erasing Wind - A C-rank defensive jutsu originally used to deflect small projectiles like kunai. Asuma Sarutobi has used it to blast away the Hidden Mist Jutsu, and Naruto has used it to destroy thin defensive ninjutsu from within by increasing the air pressure inside, once with Gaara's sand and once with Hinata's Guardian Sixty-Four Palms.

Lightning Release: White Vajra - An unusual B-rank ninjutsu. It moves slowly for a lightning technique, slightly slower than a kunai, but tracks its target's heat signature. Because of this, it was intended for use with the Fire Release to redirect it if necessary.

Water Release: Hollow Water Dragon Bullet - A-rank ninjutsu, created by Hinata to reduce the chakra cost of her Water Dragon Bullet. This version is, as the name says, only a hollow layer of water, but because it's more rigidly shaped, it's as strong as its parent jutsu. It requires excellent chakra control like Hinata's. A Jounin-level or Hyuuga shinobi could learn it.

Water Release: Guardian Sixty-Four Palms - Hinata can add nature transformation to her Guardian Sixty-Four Palms grid, increasing its defensive abilities in exchange for discarding its ability to cut the enemy. This version, since it's completely solid, can keep the user safe from poison and even some genjutsu.

Fire Release: Hellhound Flame Armor - Fire nintaijutsu, A-rank. It takes a human and canine Inuzuka team to use the full potential of this jutsu, allowing them to combine their bodies together and control it as one. Level One of this transformation, Baskerville Mode, turns the human partner into something reminiscent of a werewolf: a bipedal canine with clawed hands and feet rather than paws, and a full coat of fur. Level Two, Cerberus, turns the shared body into a fifteen-foot-tall, three headed dog that otherwise resembles the ninja hound's original form. Level Three, Barghest, places the canine in control of the shared body, which becomes an elongated, distorted abomination with an incredible healing factor. It can freely breathe fire, but its main weapon remains, as always, intimidation.

Fire Release: Hidden Smoke - a fire version of Zabuza's Hidden Mist. Kiba has used it in conjunction with his Ash Pile Burning, which looks identical to this until he detonates it.

Dynamic Substitution - Naruto and Hinata with their respective doujutsu have learned to track a moving object like a kunai through the air, and switch places with it using an ordinary Substitution. Most ninja's eyes can't track a flying kunai so easily, although Tenten can do this within a limited range. Sasuke has seen it demonstrated by both Naruto and Hinata, and has done it himself with the Sharingan, though only once.

Sage Art: Rasensuigan - Hinata can absorb the water nature from natural energy in existing water, resulting in a weaker variant of what her Water Release: Rasengan will eventually be.

Ninja Art: Seal Summoning - An object or container marked with a fuinjutsu can then be summoned by this technique. It requires a secondary fuinjutsu to mark where the object will be returned to. Naruto uses this jutsu to summon a vault containing the Uzumaki Clan fortune, along with spare weapons in case he breaks his sword.

Pulse Step - This simple jutsu allows the user to force chakra into their legs for a brief burst of movement faster than an ordinary eye can see, like the Body Flicker. However, unlike the Body Flicker, this technique requires no hand seals. Its main drawback is that the user can't turn while running at this speed.

Empty Wind - Despite the name, this is a non-elemental ninjutsu, B-rank. Much like the Pulse Step, it involves flowing chakra through the leg muscles to increase one's speed to superhuman levels, but this is Kiri's continuation of the Pulse Step which was only a prototype. This version allows the user to turn while running by increasing their reaction time and balance. This is accomplished through precise chakra flow to the eyes, resulting in a similar but watered-down effect to the Sharingan's precise sight.

Mangekyougan - The doujutsu carried by Uchiha Ootsuki, the younger son of the Sage of Six Paths. Eventually, these eyes evolved into the Sharingan and Mangekyou Sharingan of the Uchiha Clan, and as such they show some of the Sharingan's powers. Uchiha demonstrated inhanced sight and perception similar to the Sharingan's sight, as well as the ability to cast exceptionally powerful genjutsu through eye contact with it. In addition, he wielded a Susanoo with the same three layers (bone, flesh, armor) as demonstrated by the Mangekyou Sharingan. It is unknown whether the Mangekyougan can cast Amaterasu or Tsukuyomi, or any other powers of the modern Mangekyou.

Demon-Human Chakra Fusion - If both parties are willing, a Tailed Beast sealed within a Jinchuuriki can allow their 'red' demonic chakra to mix with their human's 'blue' chakra. This process takes years, but once finished, the Jinchuuriki's chakra will permanently be in a new 'purple' state, where it will be much more potent. The empowered former Jinchuuriki will then be able to manipulate their chakra in ways that are normally limited to Tailed Beasts, such as a unique chakra cloak or a Tailed Beast Ball.

Banshou Karu - Using the Asura Path, Naruto creates a giant metal blade by swinging his sword. Through a combination of the Deva Path and his Wind Release, he sends it flying with tremendous force. He can also form up to three Rasengan set into holes in the blade, adding an explosive finish to an already fearsome attack.

Water Release: Aspect of the Water Deity - A continuation of the Hollow Water Dragon Bullet and Guardian Sixty-Four Palms, both utilized by Hinata. In essence, this jutsu allows the wielder to create and float inside a giant, hollow replica of their own likeness, made of shaped water. This allows the user to interact with their environment and attack their enemies on a much larger scale, while also providing considerable protection from incoming attacks. However, it's incredibly taxing on chakra, and Hinata has thus far been unable to use it with only her own chakra.

Water Release: Dragon Rasengan - The user starts by forming a Hollow Water Dragon, then spins the chakra in the dragon's head to create a Rasengan inside its hollow mouth. At this point the attack can be fired, but the Rasengan can take on the Water Release nature from the surrounding water if the dragon is maintained for long enough. The resulting Water Release: Rasengan explodes with an additional wave of concussive force, much stronger than the explosion of an ordinary Rasengan.

Water Release: Rasenyari - The water equivalent of the Rasenshuriken, which ejects two beams of blue chakra from the top and bottom of the Rasengan, resembling a spear or staff. Its effect is very different from the Rasenshuriken; rather than cutting, shredding and eventually vaporizing the target, the Rasenyari explodes with tremendous force, enough to cause a minor earthquake. This will typically send any opponent flying when they're struck by the shockwave, although said enemy won't be cut by it, merely pummeled brutally. This certainly doesn't make it any less lethal however, and because it explodes it has a greater area of effect than the Rasenshuriken which cleanly contains its destruction in a perfect, measurable sphere shape.

Caustic Chakra Cloak: Having forcibly taken some of Kurama's chakra years before her death, Kushina intentionally made it more damaging. The effect of touching the cloak is like being burned by fire and acid simultaneously, and it is easily capable of damaging a shinobi's equipment. The blade of Naruto's sword was worn off by her power, and Hinata's barrier armor suffered serious damage as well. She has shown herself to be capable of wielding up to a six-tailed Version Two cloak with this chakra.

Original Weapons/Ninja Tools List

Kuroshi - Translating as "Black Death," this weapon was created by Tenten to replace Gaara's gourd of chakra-infused sand. At first glance it appears to be an ordinary katana, but a storage fuinjutsu on the guard contains fifty times as much sand as Gaara's gourd. The sand itself is black, and made of compressed carbon crystals ground into a powder. In other words, diamond. Drawing on her inspiration from Bleach, Tenten added an additional security measure: the sand can only be released from the seal by calling a passphrase, "Stain, Kuroshi." Continuing from this theme, an additional seal on the flat of the blade was later added. It contains a much larger reserve of sand, mixed with Shukaku's chakra instead of Gaara's. By releasing this "Bankai," Shukaku is allowed to build a sand body without Gaara having to open his seal and release the Bijuu permanently. Furthermore, the chakra mixed into the sand is gradually used up, and cannot be replenished without Gaara's cooperation. Because of this, Shukaku obeys Gaara to prolong his time outside the seal as well as earn additional time even when not needed for battle.

U-1917 Kuroga - A saber designed and manufactured by the Uzumaki Clan prior to its demise. The sword is of relatively high quality, and it's hard to damage, but it has no unique abilities. Naruto wields one copy of the sword, and has inherited several more copies along with the rest of the Uzumaki Clan's collection. It was inspired by this real-world sword.

Barrier Armor - Tenten's favored ninja tool. By dyeing one of Might Guy's training suits stealth black, and then adding a layer of steel mesh armor, she formed the base of the suit. However, she was unsatisfied with the incomplete protection offered by mesh armor. She applied her skills with fuinjutsu to cover the mesh in a seal that she can focus her chakra into, creating a simple barrier ninjutsu over her whole body. It can deflect most weapons including explosive tags, withstand some but not all ninjutsu, and safely hold back the crushing force of Gaara's Sand Coffin.

Seal Ring - Simple bronze rings bearing a small storage seal capable of holding one, and only one object. Namely, the bearer's signature weapon. Examples include Naruto's cutlass, Hinata's spear, and Kiba's heatproofed kunai.

ANBU Kunai - These are unique to Suna's forces. They're high-quality kunai made from ceramic with a stealth black finish, carried in a carbon fiber forearm sheath designed to make no sound when the weapon is drawn. Years ago, Gaara came into possession of one when he killed his first ANBU, and he later gave it to Tenten.

Hinata's Spear - The first weapon Naruto created entirely with his Asura Path. At first glance it appears to be a short staff, about the length of a sword. It's made of cherrywood, inlaid with curved gold bars fitted into the wood. But when Hinata pulses chakra into it, a mechanism inside releases two spring-loaded blades from the ends of the staff and locks them in place. The blades are each a foot long and feature delicate gold leaf inlays.

Manipulated Tools: Wrath of Heaven - Tenten's most powerful offensive weapon, carried in bulk inside a ninja scroll. The initial version consisted of senbon wrapped in a thick layer of explosive tags, but she later modified the design into tightly packed spheres of explosive tags, each about the size of a golf ball.

Manipulated Tools: Pain Without Suffering - a large collection of kunai sealed into a scroll. They look ordinary, but the hilts are hollow, and each one contains an explosive tag. The name is actually a pun: in kanji, 'kunai' is written as 'no hard feelings' or 'no suffering.' So 'Pain Without Suffering' could also be read as 'Pain With No Suffering' or 'Pain With Kunai.'

Barrier Armor 2.0 - Using more complex sealwork, Tenten has created a more powerful barrier and applied it to her own outfit as well as Hinata's. Her suit is made of slightly thicker, heavier-looking fabric, but it's still sleek and smooth over her body, not bulky at all. The suit bears a brown digital camo pattern as requested, but Tenten made the pattern gradually fade into a slightly lighter brown over her belly and the insides of her arms and legs. On her back and the outsides of her arms, the brown is slightly darker. There are bands of chocolate brown leather two inches wide on the outsides of her arms and legs, from her wrists to her collar and her ankles to her waist respectively. She has removed her headband from around her neck and now wears it as a belt. On her right shoulder is a small, curved metal plate with a dull grey finish that doesn't reflect sunlight, and hidden under it is an Uzumaki fuinjutsu. She now also wears fingerless gloves of soft black leather, bearing another fuinjutsu. Since this covers the bronze ring on her right hand and prevents her from unsealing her staff, she now carries it in a black leather scabbard on her back.

Ninjutsu Formation Seal - Originally an Uzumaki Clan seal, meant to be worn on gloves or a similar garment. It allows a ninja with sufficient chakra control to use ninjutsu without hand seals, using the seal as a crutch to aid in the formation of the jutsu. Hinata is currently the only user.

Soujihonou - The name is translated as "Sweeping Flame," and it certainly fits. Tenten's fuinjutsu-augmented jian makes use of her Fire Release affinity without the need for her to hone it or learn powerful fire ninjutsu. A seal on the blade takes in her chakra and molds it as if she were making a sequence of hand seals. Her chakra then takes the form of an extended blade of fiery energy, almost like a blowtorch. However, Tenten can vary the length of the energy blade from a less than a foot in length to one hundred times the length of Soujihonou's real blade, depending on how much chakra she's willing to spend. The energy blade has far greater cutting power than a metal one, though it can be blocked and caught by a sufficiently strong or thick object.

Shashka - In the real world, this is a Russian sword with Caucasian origins, somewhat like a saber without a hilt. In-story, it's from the Land of Lightning and the design was in use since before the Sage of Six Paths was born. Sasuke Uchiha currently wields one, with a pommel stylized as a dragon's head.

Fuuma Shuriken Bracers - Simply a pair of steel bracers with storage seals under the wrists, for carrying and quickly unleashing a large collection of Fuuma Shuriken. Naruto is currently in possession of them, however he has only used them once and no longer seems to be wearing them.

Anaconda - A small ninja puppet made by Tenten for Kankurou. It's constructed entirely of metal, making it much tougher than an ordinary wooden or terracotta puppet, however its size is limited by its weight, and Tenten's scarce knowledge of puppet warfare has also limited the variety of weapons she included in the design. It's currently known to have poisoned fangs, a flamethrower in its throat, and a collection of senbon launchers hidden between its scales.

Kekkai Kokuei - Tenten's third known barrier armor, "Barrier Silhouette," covers the entirety of her body in a much tougher, opaque black barrier. It also does much more, allowing her to move it as she would her own muscles, but with far more speed and force. This grants her superhuman strength and speed, even allowing her to flicker around the battlefield as though using a Pulse Step or Empty Wind.

Umiyou - Translated as "Sea of Lava," Tenten's new sword is a huge reddish-black falchion that she wears on her back, without a sheath. It sticks to the back of her armor when not in use, and bears a storage seal containing a massive pool of molten glass. Using her secondary affinity, the Earth Release, she can move it around in a manner similar to Gaara's black sand. Meanwhile, her chakra is always being absorbed by the seal in small quantities, where her main affinity for fire keeps the inside of the seal hot enough to melt the glass. She can refill it with any ordinary sand, which will melt inside Umiyou. The sword itself is lightened with a gravity-manipulating seal, because it's ridiculously massive.

Naruto's Saber - Because of the enhanced strength he now wields thanks to his half-demonized chakra, normal swords usually break when Naruto wields them. This one, however, is made of harder, denser metal. Although he needs to be stronger to swing it easily, it in turn can take whatever punishment he dishes out. The weapon has an ordinary curved, single-edged blade of dark grey metal, but its hilt is odd, resembling that of a katana with half the usual length. This is because Naruto prefers one-handed kenjutsu, so a longer hilt is unnecessary.

Character Stats PRETIMESKIP

Note: These stats simply show what a character is best at. If Naruto Uzumaki and Hiruzen Sarutobi both have a 5 in Ninjutsu, that doesn't mean their power levels with ninjutsu are comparable. It simply shows that their ninjutsu skill is better than their other skills ranked four or lower. Similarly, character stat totals mean absolutely nothing in terms of power.

Naruto Uzumaki:

Naruto focuses his style on ninjutsu, kenjutsu, and speed. His massive stamina allows him to make constant use of powerful ninjutsu, and subsequently he neglected his abilities in close quarters until taking up kenjutsu, at which he excels.

Hinata Hyuuga

With mostly even attack stats with ninjutsu, weaponry and taijutsu, Hinata can engage any sort of opponent on any sort of battlefield. Her highly advanced chakra control allows her to cast ninjutsu using less chakra, so in spite of her average chakra reserves, she can use ninjutsu almost as consistently as Naruto himself.

Gaara

Having focused his abilities on sand control for most of his life, Gaara's other skills are lackluster. His fighting style does not require him to be strong, fast or capable in close quarters, and his massive chakra reserves thanks to Shukaku have also impeded his chakra control. On the other hand, his kenjutsu lessons from Tenten have given him another means of attack, if admittedly one he hasn't yet mastered.

Tenten

Tenten's skills revolve entirely around her exceptional use of fuinjutsu-enhanced weaponry. Her use of explosives has allowed her to take on ranged fighters as though she were a ninjutsu expert, despite the fact that she makes little to no use of actual ninjutsu. She can move and close in on an opponent quickly, but hitting hard isn't much of an issue with the bladed weapons she prefers, so her physical strength is average.

Sasuke Uchiha

Ninjutsu 4, Taijutsu 3.5, Genjutsu 5, Bukijutsu 1.5, Strength 3, Speed 4, Stamina 3.5, Hand Seals 5, Chakra Control 4

Sasuke's training under Kakashi has allowed him to awaken his Sharingan and make heavy use of it in his fighting style. His ability to cast genjutsu through mere eye contact is impressive, though he prefers to attack with ninjutsu and taijutsu, with which he is skilled. He can move quickly to deploy Chidori and taijutsu, and while his physical strength is only average, he makes good use of it with his close-range attacks. His enhanced reflexes, both from the Sharingan and his natural skills, allow him to make hand seals at an impressive rate.

Author's Commentary 1: Writing Style

Of all the classes I took across my entire education, English was my favorite subject. I absorbed all the lessons I was given there, and learned what to do and not to do in writing over many years. I'm still refining my own personal style, but here's a few of the rules I'm always careful to follow.

1. Punctuation has to be right. No matter what, you cannot overuse commas, especially in dialogue. People don't pause that often when they talk, even if, strictly speaking grammatically, there should be commas in there more often.

2. Dialogue should feel as natural as possible. Real people use contractions when they talk; they don't sound like they're reading a script and most of them don't use a bunch of especially descriptive words. Leave that for the actual narrative.

3. Try to avoid the word 'said' in the narrative. Example: "I'm very angry," Naruto said. It doesn't look right; 'said' is too bland. Using a word that conveys the emotion matching the line, like Naruto growled, Naruto snarled, etc. always seems to make the emotion feel more real to me. You don't have to just use this for emotions though; you can use it to convey the way the character is saying something: "Holy crap!" Naruto exclaimed; "Bankai," Gaara declared, "N-Naruto-kun?" Hinata called. Anything but 'said.' It's boring.

4. When two things are described as happening simultaneously, use 'as' to connect them in a single sentence, but don't do it constantly. Everything's better in moderation. 5. The example sentence above shows this rule as well: be descriptive. Compare that example to this one: Naruto drew his sword as the Zetsu clones ran toward him. Look at how bland, empty and plastic that sentence is. Sure, the other one isn't exactly great, but it's better than this one here. It's easier to picture a scene and the attached emotions, thoughts and pace, when the writer is being descriptive and telling you what's happening with a certain measure of detail. What are the characters doing, why and how are they doing it, how do they feel about it? On the other hand, you don't want to overdo this. If you get too descriptive and ramble on and on about a setting, a character's appearance, or something like that, then the scene gets just as boring as it would if you were being bland.
