Author has written 5 stories for Doctor Who, Naruto, and Harry Potter. There are many ways to say hello but despite this abundance of greetings I don't think I shall. For a hello implies a beginning and with every beginning there's always an end so lets skip that and go straight to the middle. So I would like to talk about my fave pairings because I don't know what to put here and it's easier to get hyped about who you ship. I won't flame on pairings but just mention who I enjoy. My fave OTP: 10th Doctor/Donna Noble, Luna Lovegood/Harry Potter, Ash Ketchum/Clemont, Sheldon/Penny In terms of fan fiction only pairings: There are three characters who I tend to pair with practically anyone. (Honorable mention to Cloud Strife who I have only recently taken an interest in shipping, in verse only with many) In third place is Sakura Haruno who if written well (usually involves redeeming her of fangirlness and improving skills, bringing out the potential she missed out on in cannon) I can ship with almost anyone in the Naruto verse (older ages via time travel/au) though I will admit a fondness for Shikamaru/Sakura Gaara/Sakura and Itachi/Sakura pairings in particular. In Second place is Darcy Lewis who beats Sakura because not only can I ship her with anyone in the marvel verse if written well but I do so with a couple of people from outside of her universe. While I hold a fondness for Steve/Darcy/Bucky(WinterShieldShock), in crossover terms I love pairing her with Owen Grady. This one fanfic anchored me to this pairing and now I head ship it. The thing about Darcy is that unlike Sakura who has wasted potential which can be built on, Darcy has unlimited potential because she's such an unknown so has room to grow. What makes her fun to mold is that unlike Sakura I actually like Darcy's cannon personality so it's less work to find good interaction between her and others because she needs less to put her in a position where it is believable. Basically to me Sakura is a rough sketch which we can add to and color but still have to keep the underling image whereas Darcy is blank canvas which as long as we make it colorful (her personality) we can do what we want with. So yes Miss Lewis makes 2nd. Finally in first place is Harry Potter. Basically as long as the plot is good he(hell even fem Harry) can be shipped with any one, male/female from the same universe or not I ship him with practically anyone (not everyone though ironically GW/HP was never for me and HG/HP I'm neutral on). Based on cannon I ship him Luna but fan fiction well...he beats Darcy t 1st place because unlike her he doesn't just crossover into a couple of universes I ship him across multiple. I think the reason for this is while like Sakura Harry has untapped potential, I think Harry's potential can mesh more with others and has more options. Pls unlike the other two I always feel like Harry needs the love more which probably explains my weakness to SkyHP fics... Anways in verse fanfics with FW/HP/GW, HP/NL, HP/VK(though any of the 3 champions to tbh) hold a special place in my heart (I will search for fics with these) though at this point I've read and enjoyed multiple ships with Harry such as BZ/HP and DG/HP. Plus with the whole time travel plot (NS/HP!) the shippings just get more complex and I have yet to start on crossovers. From Tolkein's to the Marvel Universe, The Walking Dead(RG/HP, DD/HP) to Lost, Riddick to Twilight (HP/JW), Black Butler to Hitman Reborn(SkyHarry) and many more...so yes Harry Potter takes first place if only for the fact he ends up with not only the most pairings (that I enjoy to read) but also in harems more often than not. I mean there are others I ship but if I went through every pairings from the multiple fandoms I love I'd run out of room so can't do that. One more thing, I'm not the best writer I'm humble enough to admit that however I am egotistical enough to say my favorite stories list contains some of the best writing this site has to offer (I accept only the best) so you should check it out! Exception being you don't like a pairing I like however not all my faves are romance centered so as long as you like the the fandom I am confident you'll find some hidden treasure. Unless you've read it in which case you'll know it deserves it's place. |
