It offends me when intelligence is wasted THE THINGS YOU LEARN FOR THE SAKE OF FANFICTION What's with all the whining and angst? You guys have the chance to really make something of your writing, to fix all the plot holes in X-sensei's story and create some worthwhile works of transformative art. Instead, you spend all your time writing bad love stories between characters that aren't even together in the actual fandom! When I first started writing, my grammar was terrible, my scenes lacked sense, my ANs interrupted the flow, and I didn't bother to proofread. Yet you who loves to immerse yourself in New Worlds reviewed my works kindly, and every single review and PM and In-Real-Life critiques and feedback you gave me inspire me to keep writing and you're all so very wonderful I thank you for being such a huge part of what makes me who I am today - A writer who writes because they love being creative, bring life to creation, and knowing they made someone reading it cheerful and happy. In other words, a weirdo who can back up their weirdness. You think I know what I'm doing? You've come to the wrong place, we're boardin' a train that goes nowhere and everywhere Thank you for being interested in the human behind the monitor. It must mean you are interested in what and/or how I write, which means I am able to string a few words to make a coherent sentence. My main focus in writing (other than my awesome research) is trying to rework the stories as something that gives you the feeling that 'Wow, I can definitely feel that this can happen in canon!' Pretty much all of my stories are the lead character(s)-centric. My writing style, plot planning and pacing are heavily influenced by Waking to Another Sky written by Vathara, Prince of the Dark Kingdom by Mizuni-sama, SAO: The Century Voyage written by Johnny Wycliffe, May You Never Meet Her written by ketren, (Not) Supernatural written by Cursed Detective, Nouvelle by Zancrow, Other People's Choices written by Lomonaaeren, the manga series One Piece and the anime Code Geass. I like relatively long Author's Notes, but you can read my stories without ANs in my Archive of Our Own profile, Td03. Greedy, rude, a tad evil and secretly nice (Literally what I inserted in my high school yearbook). My love for science stems for still-on-going childhood research for portals that could lead to the world of Gum-I mean-Pokemon. Nakama: My little brother. My baby sister. My best friend. My savior. Loves: Lateral thinking, unpredictability, originality, unexpectedness in any shape, way, or form. Explanatory Journalism. Canon Divergence stories. Agathokakological & Rational Fictions. Psychological destruction. Happy Endings Implications. Discussing topics in ways that ultimately leads us to widen our sources of information and further our understanding of our own values and actions. Dark lightish/Light darkish humor (Like a coffee you poured some milk, or a milk you poured in some chocolate sauce, not earl grey). Italian cuisine. Hates: Bigoted people. Racist idiots who don't deserve an internet connection. Ennui. Annoying predictability. OCs replacing canon leads. xReaders. ABOverse and the seme/uke system (Cause labeling and putting people in boxes - entire world's population defined in 3 categories wth - is just asking for generations of resentment). Stories where nearly every character blatantly believe that a certain character is so special they don't deserve this "horrible" fate/life as if other people don't suffer too. A work that has no substance beyond moe. Fics where it's all about... adoring... one character. Language and science butchering. Labels such as "revenge, join in his destiny, betrayed, good, evil, gray, manipulative but good". Fried garlic. Who's your favorite sort of character? Devil Puppies like: Eren Jaeger, Monkey D. Luffy, Alex Russo, Kirito, Jack Sparrow, Tanya Degurechaff, Gretel (Witch Hunters), Nami (One Piece), Asuna, Elizabeth Swann, and Jack Frost. Favorite Nightmare : "When I grow up, I wanna be just like you," the little girl said to Katniss Everdeen (Catching Fire) Favorite Video Games: Pokemon, This War of Mine, Little Nightmares, Nier Automata, Uncharted 4, Gris, Limbo, Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition, The Walking Dead, Ori, World of Pain, Monument Valley 2, Outlast, The Last of Us, and Life is Strange. Fandoms I would rate over 10: ONE PIECE. ATTACK ON TITAN. Hoshiai no Sora. Happy Sugar Life. Weathering with You. Gakuen Babysitters. Code Geass. No. 6. No Game No Life. Youjo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil. SAO (both the novel and first half of the anime - most of the fictions are awesome too, ones that don't have story-stealing OCs that is). Pirates of the Caribbean. Harry Potter. Chronicles of Narnia. Danny Phantom. Rise of the Guardians. Pokemon (the serious fanfics such as RenegadeWarrior's The Trainer From A Far Away Land, ConstructiveWriter's Symbiosis, and DaystarEld's Pokemon: The Origin of Species. I very, very much love Red and Pikachu). Sherlock. Charlotte (barely shot up thanks to the episodes centering Yuu's past and Yuu being a total monster). Kimi no Nawa (Your Name). Favorite character interactions at the moment: Ryuuichi & Kotaro. Aside from lead characters, side ones I really like: Historia Reiss (Attack on Titan). Sasori (Naruto). Hedwig (Harry Potter). In ANY case, watch this -- Rough Advice for the "Real World" by Hank Green https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCO8eoDWqHQ I love stories and writing my own - I shout this whenever possible and thus have eluded myself into thinking that I am good at it. I just realized after spending 6 hours writing Strawberry Avalanche to celebrate Kuroko Tetsuya's birthday; I have a HORRIBLE habit of writing down ideas but I have an extremely hard time to actually write them out. English is not my native language though it is my default language, and when I write them out they just sound bland and not humorous at all because I-write-it-so-I-expected-it-to-be-this-that-way; I want my stories to be unexpected! And so, being very miserable to see many good ideas wasted for 3 years in my laptop, I decided to greet February 2017 by writing them here and letting you awesome writers try to do your take on it if you're interested. Just give me a PM and send me the link so I can see it, or better yet, we can work it together. I'll help as best as I can, I also want to see them through after all. Oh, and for all the stories below: NO EXCESSIVE CURSING. Cursing is to show you're really fucking pissed about something, but if you use it all the time, it just gets boring and clogs the actual story quality. if user=accept: print "challenge accepted" else: print "『 』" (Kuroko no Basuke) "Earthquake's Rainbow Above" If the GoM went to what could be the worst schools they could have chosen. Kuroko went to Touou, a school that prides skill above all and were the solo-type of play. It was a shame that Kuroko Tetsuya was separated from Aomine Daiki, but at least they got the vice captain of the GoM. A 100% synchronization play like that only happens so few in a lifetime. Kise went to Rakuzan, already down from silently considering himself to be the weakest of the GoM, now he has to work with 3 of the best players before their generation and because of GoM, got stuck with the nickname of Uncrowned Generals. Rakuzan also has a very strict training schedule and put focus on academics, so Kise's modelling weren't very flexible. Being an idiot, he begs Kurokocchi to tutor him. Kuroko would normally sic him on Akashi (Akashi never appreciated it so he terrorized Kise to get at least 100 in every test) but since Akashi wasn't here and Kuroko actually has significantly improved his grades from his side job of tutoring, he agrees to tutor Kise. "On second thought," Kuroko fished out his phone and called Momoi. After a painful conversation discussing Aomine's less than stellar academic brains, Momoi thanked Kuroko profusely for agreeing to tutor Aomine again. Akashi sends him an email to thank him for taking care of the Barbaric Duo. Aomine went to Seirin, and met Kagami. With no Kuroko, Seirin has a very hard time making sure those two hotheads can even work on the same team. Aomine doesn't respect Hyuuga at all because, with a captain like Akashi… Hyuuga looked like a cute kitten. Having Momoi flaunting her big breasts against the Coach's B-cup on a daily basis doesn't help. Aomine and Momoi talks a lot about Kuroko, and Seirin couldn't help but wonder how this Kuroko and Aomine sounds like night and day, and on some cases, almost wished that they got this Phantom Sixth Man rather than Teiko's troublesome with a capital T ace. Midorima went to Kaijo, a team that prides teamwork, something Midorima couldn't phantom because he only shoots three-pointers (pretty much a solo job). Kaijo disliked his attitude and the way he insisted that Teiko's way is to give special privileges to those who give results. Midorima's relationship with his team is tense at best (remember, there's no Takao here). Akashi went to Yosen, a team that highly values tall, strong players. They all acknowledged that Akashi is the strongest, but they also heavily dislike him, because he was pretentious in expecting victory (and unfortunately for them, can back up his words). In Akashi's case, I want it to focus on how Akashi manipulates his way to be captain, whether he became captain in the first month or during the tournaments is up to you. Murasakibara went to Shuutoku, and developed a deep hatred against Takao who was insistent and clingy (doesn't give space like Himuro in canon). I'm hoping the story would put more detail in how each teams' basketball style will develop alongside their friendship (no relationships, except for a non-one-sided Momoi x Kuroko which is canon), and put a relatively large focus on how to restore (or laments) Kuroko's and Aomine's 100% perfect synchronization on court. I'm also hoping for a humorous scene where the GoM managed to get Kuroko's phone without him knowing and looking at his contact list - and discovering that Kuroko labeled Aomine as 'Bad Example', Momoi as 'Marshmallow' (They had a small camping at night on Momoi's backyard and Kuroko found out Momoi loves stuffing her cheeks with marshmallows), Akashi as 'Seitan' (Satan; When Akashi found out, he posted a tweet "Phantom Sixth Man = Major Headache for Captains"), Midorima as 'Green' (The two were secret Pokemon addicts; Midorima labeled Kuroko as 'Blue'), Murasakibara as 'Future Masterchef', and Kise as 'Kise-kun', not giving him a nickname as revenge for Kise inserting his contact in Kuroko's phone once as 'Kisses'. (Tokyo Ghoul) "A Waste of a Future Human" Kaneki loves to quip little quotes from his dark, gory, depressing, and most importantly, gory books in Hide’s ears. Then an entire world of cannibalism, opened up for him through his mysterious girlfriend. Rize was a total wild card, and it seems every time Kaneki discovered something about her, more chaos followed. It didn’t help that she takes an unholy pleasure in confusing everyone. (Katekyo Hitman Reborn) "Whether to Wait or Forget" Ever since Lambo showed his ten-year-later-bazooka, I keep waiting for the episode where the anime is actually going to use it as part of an elaborate tactic. The kidnapping 'past selves' to the future to train them so they can be much stronger and will change the future where Decimo Tsuna died () was okay, but not exactly what I had in mind. Someone please write about Future Vongola Generation exploiting Lambo's TYL bazooka to give hints to their younger selves, something that occurred to a devastated Tsuna after Future Reborn died. Alternatively, I also beg for someone to write Present Reborn realizing Lambo's TYL bazooka uses and exploiting it to get future 'predictions'. (Code Geass) "Stays and Paints Your Face For Me" Challenge taker(s): Lukina Kobe Out of all of his siblings, Lelouch was the most promising one. Schneizel wasn't going to let him go as a political hostage just like that. He gave Lelouch a cell phone with his number, and kept in contact throughout Lelouch's and Nunnally's exile. With his favorite brother's obvious support (not open, but Lelouch was more than aware of the delicacy of politics), Lelouch didn't have such a bitter view of his family, mostly centering his hatred towards his father and the people behind his mother's death. His stay and developing friendship with Suzaku may vary (and I'd like for a detailed depiction of Nunnally's adjustment to being paraplegic and blind, Lelouch adjusting to live in a similar condition as a peasant after years of being a Prince of the strongest empire), but I'd like for Japan to still getting carpet bombed, razed by the advanced technology that are Knightmare Frames, and for Suzaku to kill his father who thinks the land is more important than the people's lives. Surviving the war torn Japan, Lelouch swears that he's going to kill Britannia. That means, Lelouch is going to go against his father. Suzaku didn't want Lelouch to go through what he had, to do patricide. Lelouch knew. He knew of what Suzaku had committed and he still touched Suzaku, still stayed with him despite knowing he had done the crime of killing his own father. Lelouch hadn't seen Suzaku grieving for his father. When he brought it up, Suzaku asked him how Lelouch grieved for his mother. And therein lies the crossroad: either Lelouch answering that he'll grieve after finding out his mother's murderer with Schneizel's help, thus leading the story to how Lelouch prepares to rebel against Britannia with Suzaku and Nunnally behind his brother's back; or Lelouch mourning along with Suzaku, thus letting go of his hatred and try to live a normal life with Suzaku and Nunnally, hidden under fake names, basically surviving Walking Dead style and then purchasing a house; where Lelouch and Nunnally, being Britannians, are safe in Tokyo, and Suzaku is their number butler. Obviously, his past is going to catch up to him, how that will happen varies. Oh, I want an adorably twisted scene where Nunnally lied to him for the first time; and Lelouch finding it extremely adorable. (Naruto) "Lack of Color can be Wasted" With big expectations on his shoulders because of Itachi's string of successes, Sasuke grows jealous and develops an inferiority complex, in canon. In this story, Sasuke possess more willpower than that, and though he's not a prodigy, he works very hard to achieve his goals. The fame of the Uchiha clan doesn't give him a big head, and though he's still a loner, he was friendly with his peers that prove to be strong (cue Naruto). Konoha was stretching her ninja thin because of a certain demon fox's giant paws stepping on people carelessly years ago, now they lost hundreds of ninja because Itachi killed all of his clan, save one. He didn't get a bloated head at being the Last Uchiha, oh no, he was painfully aware that every gold digger on the Elemental Nations would try to take him just like what had happened to Hinata; not for him, a snot-nosed brat that can't even compare to Itachi, but his Sharingan. He accepted the Hokage's offer to fake his death (explaining it as an internal bleeding left alone for too long), keep him hidden and taken care of in ANBU HQ where he can level up his training and have a better chance of being able to join the missions to capture Itachi, though he won't be allowed to get out of the HQ until people's memory of him weakens and he can rejoin the village under a new name years later. When Sasuke said yes, he didn't expect to see Naruto in the HQ too. Apparently the blond's mysterious home is the HQ. The story will use Sasuke as a lead character, but put the focus equally between Naruto and Itachi. See, the Hokage acknowledges that Naruto is a weapon, and Sacrifices shouldn't be put into the same environment as normal people unless they can control their emotions and not release their demon's chakra at the slightest anger. Naruto was a day old, Sarutobi doesn't know how his personality will turn out, and he wasn't going to risk Naruto growing up as a brat and be careless with his status as a Sacrifice. So he made the decision that Naruto will be kept in ANBU HQ, told his people that the Yondaime's son and his wife and his wife's "unborn" son are gone, keeping Naruto's identity as a Sacrifice strictly for selected ANBU only (Naruto himself became an SS-rank 'mission'). Now, I don't want to see a bunch of drabbles of a cute baby Naruto being cooed over ANBU - they're Special Assassination and Tactical Squad, consisting mostly of ninja that wanted deadly mission to escape normal lives, not to enter the joyful pain of parenthood. But Naruto is well taken care of there, by Kakashi (he had promised to his Sensei and Kushina-neesan to be Naruto's big brother merely hours before the Kyuubi attack, he wasn't going to back out on it) and several ANBU's distant, silent but warm care. Finding out that Naruto has been living here all his life (going outside as Naruto no-surname), Sasuke wonders if Naruto has ever met Itachi. He wonders why Naruto's entire history is being kept a secret (though the blond boy chatters non-stop, he never actually said anything personal and important). When his friendship with Naruto was deep enough, Naruto told him that his surname is Uzumaki - and after the inevitable extensive research about the family name, and finally finding scraps of information that it's actually a clan, Sasuke came to the conclusion that Konoha had secretly stolen Naruto from that clan. Thus, his gratitude towards the Hokage slightly diminishes, and he began to notice Konoha's darker side in a more negative light instead of his usual objective one - wondering if Naruto, and maybe himself, were just another Kakashi to be produced, another Itachi - a "right" Itachi. As I said before, the lead character is Sasuke, but I also want Itachi's point of view added sometimes (only after the massacre). Some scenes of how Itachi was partnered up with Kisame, 'cause I wanna see Kisame resenting having a child as his partner in this terrorist organization. How Itachi's dealing with his grief (make it different as to how Sasuke's dealing with his own grief). Preferably, Itachi's history in Akatsuki will differ from canon when Orochimaru ambushed him (I think it was a year after he joined Akatsuki, so, 14), and either failed and fled, failed and injured heavily, failed and imprisoned by Akatsuki when Itachi quickly alerted Pain that Orochimaru's deserting Akatsuki, or managed to take one Sharingan eye. How this will go on, is up to you. (Naruto) "Ruined Garden Swallowed by Woods" Naruto is a mercenary with unknown heritage and mysterious motives. He had a friendly reputation though - charms everyone he met. His missions sometimes got him to meet with Akatsuki members. Deciding he was a good replacement for Orochimaru who had gone traitor (but the ring was successfully retrieved), Madara tries to recruit Naruto. - A story as to how Akatsuki's goals can be perceived as worthy. A group of professional merceneries for Kages who need powerful ninjas to do their dirty works but are unable to send out their powerful ninja due to how few they have of them (and wants to minimize the risks of getting caught). Why they intend to collect bijuu (because bijuu instigate wars, etc). - Naruto the mercenary is not Uzumaki Naruto, but for all intents and purposes might as well be Uzumaki Naruto. They are two different people: the human Sacrifice Uzumaki Naruto who is still, oh, three years old (just got kicked out of the orphanage because he finally learned how to walk and talk), and the mysterious mercenary Naruto. (Shokugeki no Souma) "Born in a Delicate China Teacup" “You really did a great job.” Something about his tone seems off. ”You’re a useful one.” Eishi Tsukasa, the First Seat had not provoked Yukihira by asking him to join Central, instead he just asked Yukihira to partner up with him and Yukihira, being impulsive and easily tempted to work and battle strong chefs, agreed. Yukihira expected to be taught a lot of new techniques, new ingredients, perhaps more studying. There were, but there was also a lot of focus on making sure the food is balanced in nutrition, and health stuff, and proper cautions. All the while his lessons and Tsukasa, he kept hearing about "true cuisine" but he still didn't understand what Tsukasa meant. After awhile, when he did ask, Tsukasa answered something along the lines of this, “Hmm… Eliminate all restaurants in Japan… I guess? ‘To push and bring Japanese dish to the next level, this is an absolutely necessary step’, is what Azami said. I and the others are tired of seeing people serving stupid dishes that are not proper or even healthy. Because silly machines can make candies and the like, people don’t even bother with knowing what they are eating. Not many appreciate chefs, and chefs who hone their cooking to the finest are left jobless because corporates prefer machines than people.” And this is where it gets dark, because it is revealed that Yukihira's mother had died from being served a bad dish. Preferably, the story centers around Yukihira's developing cooking "nindo" (so to speak), and the Central's and Tootsuki's principles should be developed in more detail. I'm looking for arguments about why this side of the "debate" is going to win, not for character flashbacks that would somehow justify the principles. (Harry Potter/Danny Phantom) "Broken By a Bullet" Lord Potter was someone you'd call eccentric. He traveled the world for seven months when his father died. He opened a flower shop when his mother died. He took in a lot of dogs when his Uncle Lupin died. He finally hosted an open party to celebrate his godfather's death. People, friends and strangers but mostly they consist of beggars and hags came over for free food. A half-ghost came by then, asking for help to how to enter Hogwarts. (Yuri on Ice) "Hurrying Feeble Walk" Yuri Katsuki was the one who butts into the ice skating world, into Russia, into his life. So why's Yuri Plisetsky the one who gets a name change?! A story where the competitors are not friendly and the tournaments are truly brutal, with sabotaging and bribing attempts, and international terrorists are involved. I'm looking for an in-depth character study of Yuri Katsuki, how he can think he's somehow worthless while being called Japan's ace in ice skating and his apparent anxiety attacks. There will be a lot of the bad guys, but the real antagonist of the story should be Yuri Katsuki himself, or to be specific, his doubts and fear. Continuous victory to the point of expecting it breaks a person, such as Viktor (and the Generation of Miracles of KnB in that case), but he healed when he found Yuri. In the future, when Yuri keeps winning, how do you tackle this problem? (Naruto) "Shallow Elfin Breath" It wasn't named 'Naruto', it was named 'The Great Uzumaki Bridge'. That warrants to attract attention from Kumo, Kiri, Iwa and of course, the Uzumaki refugees scattered away, right? (Harry Potter) "Caspain" In Surrey where there are rows upon rows of identical houses, one stood out for its size and crowd. Anyone passing by and looking for a place to rest would do well to stop by in the Tunia Tavern. Unlike the rest of the normal, unsuspicious houses in the suburban area, the tavern was never empty. (Harry Potter) "Entertaining Indulgences" The Founders wanted a House system, where they get their preferred children types, but then they realized it would create unrealistic expectations. If they put a label people will simply assume the child is brave, cunning, a hard worker or a knowledge lover. But one can love knowledge and work hard. One can be brave at one thing but a coward once something happened. Traits are never permanent. So they decide the houses on the permanent things, magic types (Sword Art Online) "Elation" RATH uses the folklore of Alice as a decoy, the world they have developed, instead of Underworld, is the Elation, the Elemental Nations. Kirito the Black Swordsman took place in the Leaf-Sound War, what will he do? As the secret creator for the SEED successor, he quickly mastered the game options, but it seemed as if he was the only one having game functions while others are… basically alive- as if he really - which makes sense for it to be a of VRRPG, he decided to travel the world and found himself chewed out by a blond brat. This is not a romance story, as it will stay Kirito/Asuna, this is Kirito adapting to live as a swordsman with ninjas. (07-Ghost/Frozen) "Saltwater Room" In the ice castle where Frau nearly ate Teito, can someone make that castle Elsa's ice palace? A story with a genuine plot, even if it might be a filler to the canon storyline. (Harry Potter) "Zero Falls" He let two teenagers using a time traveling device to save a bird, but didn't use one himself when there was a grave mistake happening? What if Albus Dumbledore used the time turner to save James and Lily Potter, bringing them out of Godric's Hollow in time? (Once Upon a Time) "It's on the Next Page as Always" Still in the same magical universe, but focuses on this issue: Emma needed to find a shrink, and she really didn't feel like she could talk to anyone in Storybrooke about her problems. Especially since the one shrink was the same shrink her son saw. Talk about awkward. (Cinderella) "Enchantingly Nasty" Write a fiction where Cinderella's true identity - where she is the mystery princess to us, the readers. We don't know if she's really a spy or not. if she's really from another Kingdom or not. If she had went with her father after her mother dies, and left the house to be taken care of by servants for a month, before selling it or just letting it be their vacation home or not. (Katekyo Hitman Reborn) "Am I Bleeding Through the Storm" Nana was raped and Tsuna was starved in the next room by a small group of an enemy famiglia. Nana’s raped and Tsuna’s starved in the next room by a small group of an enemy famiglia. Tsuna suffered Stockholm to a lady who delivered food to him through the months they held them captive. She was clearly cruel, but Tsuna only knew that she’s the ‘nice’ one among the mean ones, who gave him food every time he finished their 'training'. When a dispute ran between the most violent who wanted Young Lion’s spawn dead and the others who want the little Sky to be theirs as revenge, Tsuna took advantage and fired wildly with the gun he managed to get in his hands. The man threw a knife blindly too and it embedded to the lady’s head – the ‘nice’ lady Tsuna likes and the man’s own girlfriend. Tsuna's shots, while never hitting any vital spots, landed onto all of their bodies and injured them greatly. By some miracle, Nana gathered enough strength to feed him and bring both of them to the local hospital. Nana convinced the police to keep the case quiet and moved to another part of the town, still living off of her husband's transfer money despite rarely hearing from him. She was sick though. Has been sick for months now and still sick for a long time, until her forced labor where Tsuna had to act as a stand-in for Iemitsu and she gave coffin birth to three babies. Tsuna named the triplets based on his Italian blood from his dad, Japanese blood from his mum, and Chinese blood from his grandmother who had connected with them to take care of her sick daughter and grandson - Lambo, Fuuta, and I-Pin. [I dreamed this messed up plot when I went to sleep after reading a bunch of adorable fics about Tsuna taking care of these three.] (Black Butler "Kuroshitsuji") "Clearly I'm Just a Passerby" [A story I've been trying to find in the fandom the moment Ciel was introduced as the Queen's Guard Dog, but failed to find. Failing to write it out myself, I'm putting it up as a prompt] A spy. There's a spy in her court. Her personal court that consisted of people she trusted. Queen Victoria will have to censor herself in order to limit the spy's knowledge. She cannot afford her court that consisted of her close friends to distrust one another. They were together because they are a family to each other, not because their parents thought an alliance between them would be beneficial or any superficial reasons such as those. A fiction dedicated to the Queen of England trying to figure out the spy who is giving out crucial and personal information to defame her, and letting ragtags breach her security during her trips around her beloved country. Her court, the family she chose and not the one she was born to, were Wahrheit Tiache Raggs, who was in the middle of an engagement with a German ambassador called Roseamanelle Ouka Barsburg; Daphne Greengrass, who was dealing with her little sister being forced in a marriage with a (seemingly) classical dick that was Lord Malfoy's son, while currently in denial of her feelings for a more humble, nicer, compassionate Lord who could take her down some pegs in sarcasm (ehm, Lord Harry Potter); Asseylum vers Allusia, who is oblivious to her advisor and childhood friend, Slaine Troyard, being very distracted lately; and Ciel Phantomhive, her painfully young Guard Dog in the Underworld business, who is currently trudging through his pre-teen years while dealing in very dark matters the young boy thrives in masterfully. P.S. Don't focus too much on romance. Sexual escapades are fine (NOT Ciel — at least in the first half of the story. He's only 13. The others are 19-26), this is a dark fantasy, but the drama better not outweigh the suspense of FINDING THE FUCKING SPY. If it helps, imagine Rick Grimes of The Walking Dead trying to fish out a traitor. He didn't ask to be a Leader, the people pushed him to the position, but it's like every decision he made disappoints at least one person and that one person raises a GIANT STINK of it and he only has a few people he can truly trust and help him if he makes mistakes, because he acknowledges he's only human. But the sheer "coincidences" of the leaking of his personal information and assassination attempts could only mean someone from the inside are giving out information and it's tearing him apart to secretly doubting years of bond with his surrogate family. P.P.S. Though the supernatural elements exist, it would be in minimum. There will be no shounen-type battles. It's mainly (not all, I'll give you that) subterfuge and skullduggery. The Soul Reapers have lived since the first human died (I guess) and have been doing their job for millenniums, Demons have their own dimension and only came to the human to mess around for meals, there is no need for some kind of prophecy, special, time/fate impossibility to just happen during the story, during Queen Victoria's time, during the nineteenth century as if the first few centuries don't matter. Ciel is special to Sebastian and Alois' demon because those two have similar tastes in soul, not because Ciel or some other human somehow embodies all demons' preferences in what they want in their meals or somehow possess the power or decision or influence to mess up the fine fragile lines of time and space. P.P.P.S. Rant that might offends you so beware! There will be no specific markers for demons. No Demon of Lust (as if only that one thrives on desire [bet you're thinking specifically of sex]), or War (as if only that one enjoys war *coughcrazycough*), or Poverty or Gluttony the way Greeks have God of Lightning (yeah, have one for every space bodies including the very dust and weather while you're at it) and Hearth (the floor of a fireplace came around 8 centuries after the First Day. Fire came first - wait, stones and rocks exist first) and Wine (if there's a terribly specific God of Wine, where's the God of Cocktail, or Chocolate, or Sushi or Pizza or Ribbon or Pearls or Books or Papers or Papyrus or Pencil cases o.0). Spoilers!!! The spy will be Mikhail, a demon Wahrheit made friends with for saving his life from his blood family's murderers. Mikhail only did that out of a whim and because he thought Wahrheit, who at the time was a 4 year old, was a very cute child who would die if the murderers found him hiding. Wahrheit, forever grateful to the demon who helped him to survive from time to time, trusted Mikhail to possess him every few days. Mikhail has a penchant for Chaos though, and his fondness for Wahrheit doesn't extend to the boy's best friend (the Queen herself) or England, and the demon found messing with her security and reputation amusing, especially how her people are so public with their fickleness and superficiality. Elements or stories I'd want for the story: #1: Ciel's passive aggressive, on-and-off independence/reliance on his demon butler whom he trusted with his safety but not his feelings/insecurities. Ciel's simple/elaborate plans and tactics and use of connections to destroy the bad weeds of the Underworld. Ciel is basically the Underworld's Chief Police. No drug dealings to the slums, human trafficking, raping activities, forced prostitution. Assassinations, sex industry workers who came by choice, hits, business exploitations, drug dealings between the rich people who can actually afford blowing money for pointless joints amp; etc are fine within reason (read: within Ciel's standards and whims). Ciel using his Underworld connections to test out the defenses of the Queen's securities and policies, which will lead to debates about the merits of Underworld's existence, such as the benefit of bribery and spot-on criticism of her policies so they can improve them and make her people's lives better. Ciel's flaw is that sometimes, he comes across as a future world ruler/conquerer/emperor with his sortofambition to make England rule over the world and lack of sympathy for people's suffering. If he comes across someone in need, he'll do his best to help them, but if they're stubborn about not needing help or whiny or complains or worse, demands things - it's no skin off Ciel's nose; he'll just leave them with a blunt, parting advice. There will be no angst-y scenes involving Ciel and Sebastian because - pragmatic and visionary young man he is - one of the first things Ciel ordered Sebastian to do is "You shall never betray me. You shall never leave my side. No matter what!" At the start of the story, only Ciel is portrayed to possess knowledge of the supernatural. The Queen's knowledge of them will be vague and unexplained until 3-5 chapters after, where it will be revealed that Ciel trusted Victoria about the supernatural's existence. Asseylum and Daphne will be brought into the whole supernatural stuff later (not as damsels in distress. NO. That's Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Midford's role, for her to have a character development and later become the badass swordswoman she is). At the end of the story, Ciel will have carried out extreme humiliation to the ones who have wronged the him and the Phantomhive name (he won't kill them, he'll let them live with their reputations forever tarnished publicly, bankrupt, homeless), and willingly let Sebastian consume his soul to be eaten. I personally prefer it if you enact Season 2 with more involvement from Lizzie and the Queen and his, well, surrogate family (though he'd never admit it, fucking tsundere/slight-yandere he is), have Ciel show hints of his hormonal teenager side (he's obviously a self-indulgent spoiled child 30-50% of the time, give him some last vestige of the wonders of puberty) with Alois Trancy's interest in him (though that kid's gonna fail to actually nab Ciel in a consented route) and have Ciel become a demon; but if he dies, that's okay too, as long as he dies to complete the contract smoothly and not because of some tragic accident or angst-y betrayal. On both route, Victoria will reveal that Ciel made her promise that the Phantomhive name will die with Ciel. All of Ciel's assets are to be 1) if Ciel dies: given to Asseylum's advisor's possible lover, Inaho Kaizuka, who is the only one Ciel knew would actually manage the Funtom company efficiently and would be an acceptable Guard Dog for Victoria (though the pragmatic, almost emotionless man secretly possesses a compassionate bleeding heart that Ciel lacks) or 2) if Ciel becomes a demon: transferred to him in secret and Ciel will travel the world, regularly visiting his surrogate family and becoming the cute but seriously scary Uncle to their future children. #2: Victoria can't help but notice that Slaine Troyard has been distracted a lot by something lately. "It's someone," Asseylum clarified. "Truly? Who is she?" Victoria asked, the secret gossip-sucker she is. "Oh, no, Inaho's a boy. He's helped me a lot in managing Vers (Asseylum's) and Terran (Inaho's) companies (obviously, the two merged). Slaine was very against him though. They constantly try to rile each other, though poor Slaine loses almost every time because of his short fuse, in chess matches or anything else. It's been going on for two years now? I think it's just their way of showing friendship." Daphne was 99% sure Asseylum had no idea of exactly why those two are… getting along. -- Inaho Kaizuka is a Japanese orphan who was brought into England by way of human trafficking. He was a few years older than Ciel who saved him from getting his organs pilfered (though both had no idea that they had ever met prior to Asseylum introducing Inaho to help them with plans). Somehow, Inaho clawed his way up the hierarchy and got involved with them personally when he befriended Slaine Troyard, Asseylum's childhood friend. #3: I haven't gone far in thinking up Victoria's personality and character arc, though I keep picturing her as a female Akashi Seijuurou (minus the Dissociative Identity Disorder), because I can't see Ciel following someone soft or spineless even if she is the Queen of England. #4: Victoria Rules, Asseylum handles the bulk of the Financial amp; Economy business, Daphne weaves through the intricacies of Law and Politics, Wahrheit charms the people ("Sheeple," Ciel sneers) and foreigners, and Ciel enforces the Order amp; handles the shrewed Underworld business. #5: I think I re-typed this from another's fiction? I'm not sure, it's apparently buried under my draft for a Pandora Hearts fanfic. I can't believe I forgot about this. I really love this. Sebastian did something to anger him, and on the fly, Ciel crafted a new kind of punishment. "This is an order," he whispered to his servant's ear. "Until I tell you to stop, resist trying to consume my soul." To obey was his lifeline in their contract. To desire was his living as a demon. To resist would be painful. To resist would mean to break their contract. Something in him tugged painfully, and Sebastian knew his poker face didn't trick his master at all that he was having spasms inside. And his master's sheer vindictiveness made his soul impossible to ignore. Maybe if they are apart for a few miles Sebastian would be able to ignore the hunger, but certainly not when the boy was merely an arm's length away from him. It hurts! He was hungry. He had not consumed a soul for three years. He wanted to eat. But the want gave him pain because he was ordered to resist and he found himself unable to follow that order when it was so blatant— "You can stop now." Ciel left him alone, thinking the demon has learned his lesson. Sebastian did learn, and also graced himself with a cruel smile. You would make a cruel demon indeed. He was bored, and he hated being bored – it’s like your very soul is telling you that you’re wasting time, after all; and when an abstract, indiscernible, and possibly indefinite, profound ontological property/entity is telling you that you’re wasting time, you really must be wasting time. |
