Author has written 1 story for Naruto. Welcome to my profile! Everything you need to know about my fic should be here! Think of this as a "manual of instructions" of sorts. As for personal info... not feeling like sharing that with you guys... but i will say that users Simple Potato, gio08, Ozymandias Rex Regum and NPCrusader should take some credit for my writing, since they were my fic's beta readers at some points and always offered great feedback. Profile Updates and Possibility of Discontinuation If you wish to know something important about the fic that you think others should know, PM me and I'll add a section about it. Also, I'm going to update this profile at least once a month! If after that period there are no updates on my profile (accounting for time zone differences and such), it means I'm somehow physically unable to do it. That could be because I have no access to internet, am somehow too sick/wounded to write, in a coma or even dead. Dramatic, but true. Updating the profile takes very little time of my life and if I somehow can't, there's a very good reason for it. (Okay. There have been a few instances of me updating this thing and not saving it, so that's also an option unfortunately...) And if I happen to willingly discontinue my fic, there will be plenty of warnings about it, even though it is very unlikely. And the profile updates will almost always be just about the next section... 2. Story Updates and Current Progress Right now there is no fixed update schedule. Once I stabilize on my new job perhaps I can work one out. On average I'm releasing a chapter each 3 months though... Below you can see what chapters I have completed, the word count of the chapter I'm currently working on (liquid of Author Notes), which chapters I have posted, and their current version. Look in the next section for more info about the last bit. Revision Progress: 5 chapters revised. Book 1: Chasing After You Arc 1 – Prologue arc: Complete. Chapter 28: Completed and Posted, 1.0 (!) 3. Revisions of Posted Chapters and Fixing Mistakes From time to time I'll go back and revisit posted chapters, and each time I do so you will see a change in the chapter's version number, which can be seen right in front of the chapter's title, after the initial A/N. This is how the whole process will work: 1) Complete overhauls of chapters or big parts of them, as rare as they might be, will be referred to on the initial A/N of the next new chapter I post. On the Current Progress list, the chapter's version number will change like this: 1.0 - 2.0 2) Bigger fixes like changes to a scene, or the addition/removal or a scene, might be referred to on the initial A/N of the next new chapter I post if I deem them to be relevant enough. On the Current Progress list, the chapter's version number will change like this: 1.0 - 1.1 3) Small fixes, like getting rid of typos and polishing some sections that were too rough, will be stealthily updated with no warning. On the Current Progress list, the chapter's version number will change like this: 1.0 - 1.0.1 With these bigger revisions, I'll leave an "(!)" in the list above after the revision number of each updated chapter. I'll take down that symbol after a certain amount of time passes. The exception to this will be if I need to make a big and urgent fix to one of the most recent chapters. In those cases I'll post them ASAP, and update my profile accordingly. Hopefully this won't happen much. Ah, lastly, if you scroll down to the ending A/N of an edited chapter you will see the chapter's changelog. I recommend checking it out if you see I made a big fix (1.0 to 1.1 or 2.0) because it will tell you what section you might want to reread. For overhauls I'm afraid you'd probably have to read the entire thing again, but checking the changelog first might be worthwhile anyways. If it's anything important I usually will mention in the newest chapter's author note, though. 4. Why I have decided to write this fic At first, the idea to do this came to me simply because I was disappointed in how little Hinata did in the series, and how little Naruhina was developed throughout it. The last straw was The Last (lame pun not intended), because it handled their romance horribly in my opinion—despite introducing quite a few interesting little sides to their relationship. Then when I started to seriously consider having Hinata become a main character but WITHOUT messing with the team setups, it meant I needed to deal with Team 7 too. I disliked how little development the two main pairings of the series had, and disliked the direction the characters went, so I built my ideas around changing that and implementing romance aspects in the manga alongside the action. Kishimoto completely ignored romance and it crippled that aspect of the series when things were resolving themselves by the last two chapters/movies. Naruhina moments and the default story take care of part of Naruto's extra development, so what about Sasusaku? One thing I dislike about the manga is how Sakura and Sasuke developed (together and alone). I think Sakura failed epically in being a main character, both in terms of her story impact and her share of the action (seriously, I had such high hopes for her after the Kazekage Rescue arc...), and Sasuke was a disaster in so many levels that I won't even bother; so part of my focus is on changing how those two work, even if they are secondary to naruhina in focus. I also want to improve my skills as a writer... and my skills with English, which is not my first language despite me using it far more than BR!Portuguese at many points during my life. Seriously, Portuguese sucks, and Brazil sucks even more. Just saying. 5. How much the plot is going to be changing FIRST OF ALL: Remember that I have no obligation to stick with the canon events (past or future) or even with the canon mechanics of the world of Naruto. (I do have an obligation to remain consistent with my own story though, so if you spot anything contradictory like that, please point it out in a review!) On Part 1, the biggest changes come from team 7 forming stronger bonds with each other and the rest of the Konoha 12, with an obvious focus on Naruhina (duh), Sasusaku... and Naruto's friendship with Sasuke, as well as Sakura's with Hinata. These character development moments will be sprinkled throughout the ENTIRE fic, be it during canon events or breaks between those. As for the arcs themselves, some (Wave, Search for Tsunade, Training scenes between arcs) will have changes coming mostly from character development, and in the specific case of Wave, more major enemies thanks to the higher number of heroes on the arc. The two combat oriented arcs, which are the Chunnin Exams and the Sasuke Retrieval arc, will mostly have changes on the match-ups or on how the fights play out, since there is very little plot that I can change without creating a huge impact on the story. My objective isn't to hugely change how the major events of Naruto play, at least not until near the end. For Shippuden, I'm looking to change more things, thought the end result of a few arcs will remain the same, the meaning behind many of its events or the events themselves might be changing considerably. Some arcs will have quite a few changes, and I will have new half-arcs in there too (you will see what I'm talking about right in the first real arc of part 2). Unlike in Part 1, there will be two filler arcs covered after the timeskip, because those fillers are actually pretty important to my fic. You might see me trying to explain some plot holes Kishi left between all his retcons and such as they become relevant. Part 3 will be a post-conflict book, mostly about how everyone is going forward with their lives now that the bigger conflict ended. This may or may not cover the events of “The Last”. I haven’t decided it yet but I hate it so most likely not. Lastly, there's a part 4 that will revolve around the second generation, but it will mostly consist of one-shots with a few small arcs too. There won't be a chronological order to this part of the story, so one chapter you might see Himawari and in the following one you could see Hinata pregnant with Boruto. And after I'm done with the whole story (besides part 4 which doesn't really have an ending though I will stop one day if I get that far), maybe not immediately, but I'll revise each chapter and put at least the first 3 parts in a single fic for convenience. Part 4 will probably stay running as a separate collection of one-shot stories. 6. Fundamental Changes to the Plot As far as the big events will go, we will see a few changes with the Shippuden arcs, but they will also play out in the same way in some aspects. Part 1 won't have many changes if we are looking at the bigger picture (as far as the world of Naruto cares, that is. The chunin exams finals highlight this well: it doesn't really matter much who will fight who as long as someone pushes Gaara over the edge and Naruto can stop him. The rest is irrelevant for the most part). Something that needs to be said: I'm not going to stray too far from what we already have for the most part. But that doesn't mean I have any obligations to stick with what we know. You might see personalities, concepts, events and techniques working differently this time around. My focus is more on character dynamics and growth than the actual plot. Crafting people, and their relationships. Though it's worth noting that a certain character was treated better by a certain someone and might be more cooperative this time around... 7. Pacing of the Romance, Action and the Story in General This story will be big and it won't go by very quickly thanks to additional events and interactions inside the arcs. One thing that I will already address here before people complain: The Wave arc now has more characters in it, and I'm making use of the training days that were skipped during the anime/manga to develop characters, relationships and skills. I'm also not ignoring some important events most fics do ignore like Inari’s character. So that arc will last a bit longer than you think. About the Romance... While you will see plenty of romantic moments throughout the entire fic, do not expect any relationship upgrades until part 3. This story is about much more than just the romance, so... Part 2 and 1 will be to set up the scene romantically, so to speak, as well as getting through Naruto's tale. Frankly, nobody should be seriously considering romance in part 1, and in part 2 there's too much serious business for people to devote time to dates and such. That doesn't mean there will be no romance, though, it just won't involve kissing and stuff. There will be more than enough sugary moments between the couples (mainly Naruhina again; but this is because Sasuke is hard to write romantically) during the last two parts, and those will take a while to get through... As for the action, while you might see people learning new moves here and there, for the most part they will be complimentary to their default skillsets. Hinata and Sakura do get a bit more stuff, since the former is now a main character and the latter really, really needed something in order to stay relevant in combat... but neither them nor other characters will get ridiculously powerful in comparison to their canon selves, unless there is a really, really good reason for me to give someone an upgrade (which is post-Kaguya stuff anyways unless I change my mind). 8. The Mechanics and Inner Workings of... many things... From time to time you will see a more in-depth explanation of the inner workings and characteristics of a certain technique (like the Rasengan), Dojutsu (like the Mangekyou Sharingan), fighting style (like the Jyuuken), concept (like Chakra) or art (like Genjutsu). These might deviate somewhat from canon, or be mere expansions from what we got. It's something I find to be particularly fun to write about and there will be a decent few of those moments throughout the story as the characters get to learn new things. 9. Original Characters There will be three original characters on the Wave arc, one being a one-off and two being... well, side characters of the arc and minor characters as far as the plot goes. If you dislike stories with a bunch of OCs, don't worry. I'll try to keep them down to a minimum, and most of them will be minor ones. I particularly dislike adding OCs to the story, but considering how I handled my Wave arc, I had little choice. I might need one-offs for stuff like bandit attacks or the chunin exams, though. OCs will almost never be important for more than one chapter. 10. Use of “Fanon” facts, interpretations and tropes. Throughout the years a lot of original ideas in fics viralized and are now accepted as or mistakenly considered as canon. Things such as certain characters being clan heads, Hinata’s affinity being Water or Sakura being the “top kunoichi/kunoichi of the year” of her graduation class. (It was Ino, if you didn’t know.) You will see some of these things incorporated in my story, but generally, I’ll play around with how they are used or seen in most stories. For example, why would a “council” ever outweigh the opinion of the Hokage or a clan head? Some fanon things that I’ll use include: Sakura as the top kunoichi, every genin of the Konoha 9 being the child of a clan head, the presence of a (not very influential) civilian council, and the presence of a (more influential) council of elders both for the village as a whole and the Hyuuga clan in particular. 11. Justification for the Rating I might want to implement a gory description of something at certain points (there is one such thing in the fic as of now), so this allows me to do it freely. Oh, and swearing. This gives me freedom to use it as I see fit. Hidan and Tayuya will be happy, I suppose. About sexual content... that will most likely only be referenced in passing by the time it becomes relevant on part 3 and 4. I am, however considering tackling the challenge of writing lemons when those pop up in my story, but as a separate collection of one-shots. The minimum I'd cover would be the few moments I implied during the story, and if I somehow become good at writing those things and there is demand for it... but I'm getting ahead of myself. One of my weaker areas is description, so writing a good lemon will be more like a final boss fight to me, which is the biggest reason I am interested in writing one of those and succeeding at it. Of course, I doubt I will ever get personal experience with these matters, so I will have to rely on other sources to help me through... hence why I do not promise anything. And outside of personal challenges, sexual content does have potential for me to use as a tool to develop the characters and their relationships in ways I cannot do otherwise, so that's another reason for me to try my hand at writing lemons. A few years from now, maybe... Oh, and by "characters", I mean just Naruto and Hinata. Despite getting a good amount of focus and possible off-screen action by the end of the fic... I won't write Sasusaku lemons. Nope. I refuse. 12. Etymology There will be five fics I will be doing, and I've named them based on the words Hinata originally said to Naruto when she confessed to him during her brief battle with Pain. All parts (Together or not): Because I Love You Part 1 (Classic Naruto): Chasing After You. Part 2 (Naruto Shippuden): Catching Up to You. Part 3 (After the 4th War): Walking Beside You. Part 4 (Epilogue): Forever Being With You. 13. Use of Japanese and the Macron Japanese words will be reserved to only a few things: Honorifics, names of places (and not always, this is just to make the fic less repetitive), when people refer to their family members (and not always, you will see brothers and nii-sans here), basic expressions that can't be properly translated without losing their meaning or feeling awkward (Itadakimasu) and food stuff (which I will mostly avoid even commenting about, because I know very little about oriental food.) Outside of that I will be avoiding the language as much as possible, so don't expect many bakas, dobes, arigatous, temes and gakis from me. Or any. Certain jutsu will be kept in Japanese when the Japanese name is much, much shorter (Hiraishin vs Flying Thunder God, Hosenka vs Phoenix Sage Flower) or less stupid (Hiding like a mole…) Also, many Japanese names that I can't change use the Macron. You know, like Hyūga and Ōtsutsuki... but I will not use a single macron on my fic. I'd have to jump through hoops to implement macrons on OpenOffice, and I don't feel like breaking my head for weeks to understand how to do it. I suck at those things. Thus, no macrons. For some words you will see them written just without them (like Danzo), others will get an additional vowel to represent the missing macron (like Hyuuga). 14. Reviews and PMs It's my personal opinion that fanfics are community works. Your input will definitively help me, be it by suggesting ideas or pointing out my mistakes and areas where I need to improve. I will try to answer as many reviews and PMs that I can, even if it's just a thanks. The rule of thumb is that I will talk to you guys as much as you talk to me... so the bigger the review/pm, the bigger my answer will be, generally speaking. I try to answer reviews ASAP, but Guests (and registered users that blocked PMs) will have their reviews answered in the following update… but I'll not be able to give good answers through chapters, as it inflates the world count! Please, guests, if you can register... it helps you keep track of updates in your favorite fics AND lets us authors communicate properly with you! Win-win!) Just don't be shy about sharing your thoughts! They help more than you think, even if you only popped in to question my decisions! Also, if you send me information about something I have to fix in a posted chapter, you will be credited on the chapter's changelog. If you give me an idea for a chapter that wasn't posted yet, you will be given credit on the ending A/N. 15. Other Stories That Are Awesome! Check out my Favorites! If you like some lengthy Naruhina fics, I have quite a few that I'm sure you guys will enjoy! These works also helped me think about my own story, and are sources of inspiration for my writing too! I'm sure that there's at least one great story for you over there... so help yourself! In this account I have nothing but Naruhina fics. |
