I plan to be a professional writer someday, and I've turned to fanfiction as a writing exercise to develop my talents and spur my muse. Right now I'm concentrating mostly on Naruto, since it seems to offer the most breadth of opportunity (and since I can't seem to get inside the head of anyone from anything else). I have something of a fetish for fleshing out minor characters and for crafting realistic dialogue, action, and plot, so expect to see a lot of one-shots focusing on a lot of different people.

11/4/2013: It's fun to look back on the dreams of the young... I'm a lawyer these days, not a college student, and while I don't write (or read) much fanfiction anymore, I still dabble occasionally with one-shots or backstory for my collaborative writing community, ANBU Legacy.

If a fic hasn't been updated in more than a year, it probably won't be.

Current Projects:

With the end of Fallen Leaves came the birth of a new project, ANBU Legacy. It's a collaborative AU Naruto story taking place in a Konoha where the Yondaime defeated the Kyuubi—and lived. Legacy is focused on the young men and women of ANBU, who took the vow to defend the Hokage and their village at all costs. It's more tightly plotted (and frankly, makes more sense in places) than Leaves, and the writing is even better. I'm still writing Tousaki Ryouma there, but I've also added Namikaze Minato and his little hellion of a three-year-old son to the roster, as well as Yuuhi Kurenai. The writers I'm working with there are some of the most talented I've met anywhere, and unlike all my fanfiction oneshots, it's ongoing. :) Check us out!

Past Projects:

Fallen Leaves, an ANBU-centric writing community set five years after the Yondaime's death. It's now defunct, but we have several years of quality plotting all still neatly archived for your reading pleasure. I played an original character there, Tousaki Ryouma. Fallen Leaves was the literary heir of Scarlet Spiral, and the quality of the writing there is still incredible. If you're looking for a complex, richly layered story with fascinatingly flawed characters who have more than their fair share of heroism, clear out a weekend (or two) and do some reading.
