Everything you need to know to read Chains of Love:

Two sisters, Zepar (the Dark Pterosaur) and Ronwe (the White Pterosaur), were the first living beings in the entire universe; some would call them goddesses.
Ronwe ruled over Earth while her older sister ruled over a different, distant one. Zepar created a race, the Space Pirates. They were different than she expected, a disappointment. She targeted four individuals who as the only ones checked with her standards. They were sent to search for her lost power, the cosmos stones.
Zepar's anger and disappointment were directed towards her sister whose creations were perfect. Those emotions drove the stones to Ronwe, resulting in wiping out of most of her creations on Earth. During that, Ronwe's power made stone plates with souls of her creations, but not only that; crystals that hold the balance between the stones and the plates came to existence as well.
Zepar took over Earth since she killed almost every single one of her previous creations; the planet started to be occupied by her new creations, humans. They disgusted her even more...

In the 1880s, Ronwe began her life as a human. She fell in love with Sikers Grey, giving him the crystals she kept. Not long after, they had a daughter. In the year 1902, two children traveled through time to that year, Rod and Laura. Since their way of time travel was unpredictable, they had no way of getting back home. They stayed for 8 years and during that time Rod and Harc fell in love. Being in their early 20s, they even considered marriage.
In the year 1910, the power of one of the crystals got out of control and 'killed' Ronwe (destroyed her human form). In order to bring her back, Sikers decided to seek Zepar; she agreed to bring Ronwe back if he gives her the crystals or his daughter. When he came back home with the news, Laura decided to take Harc's place, starting a new life as Kamila Ike within Zepar's darkness known as the Akuno.
Not long after that, another random time warp transported Rod into the years 2010; it was on the exact same day Harc wanted to tell him that they're going to have a baby.

2008, the day after the Space Pirates were defeated, Reese found a part of the Dark Pterosaur's smog at the D-lab and experimented on it with a goal of creating a way of traveling through time. Her experiments, however, caused something really bad; she brought Zepar back.
The goddess saw a potential in her

In the year 2010, Zepar made her first move; she sent one of her servants, Drack, and a prisoner to bring her dinosaur cards from 2130. Drack managed to destroy Jonathan and Helga and injure the Ancients. Convinced that his parents are dead, Rex followed Drack, who stole the cards, for revenge and ended face to face with Zepar, who promised him to bring his parents back to life if he helps her. He thought that them being alive again would delete the timeline with his sins and chose to join the Akuno.
Unknown to him, the prisoner that was with Drack healed the Ancients' wounds and brought them into 2010, telling them to hide in a town near Sanjo so the Akuno doesn't find them.
Some dinosaur cards were stolen from the Akuno by their former member and were given to the D-Team and their friends.

Rex and Laura (now being 116 years old, but making herself look 16 thanks to Zepar's powers) were lately saved from the Akuno and helped their friends. During that Reese was attacked in a confrontation with the Akuno; her injury damaged her womb, causing that she can never have children. Using this for her advantage, Zepar offered her to heal her as an exchange for her body.
Reese agreed.
She was forced to fight her family, revealing her lies to them. She saw her opportunity to destroy Zepar forever by having others attack her, kill her and Zepar in the process. Things didn't go as planned, but Reese was freed from the goddess.
They all met up with Rod and the Ancients in the D-lab. While dealing with regret, Reese adds her knowledge to their inventions, creating the ultimate weapon against Zepar.
Laura tried to stand against Zepar but unfortunately failed. Reese did the same and was saved from certain death by her mother who used the weapon against Zepar.
Zepar was defeated alongside her sister; the only thing left was a crystal that Reese created two years ago. She said to destroy it.

Rod, Laura and the Ancients left back home through another time warp, leaving Rex in the present.
