I'm new at beta reading, I admit. I can notice some grammar mistakes and I don't claim to be the best, I myself make some mistakes! I used to have a beta reader myself, so don't be shy about it.

I tend to read for grammar errors first, that way I can tell how you right. Then I go on to spelling, and eventually content. The only advice I give to content is speed, character, and if it's readable to the people that read these kind of things. Most stories are.

I expect the guy needing a beta reader to want to get better at writing, and I expect that over time you get better. Beta readers are supposed to help you get better, not do your work for you. If I don't notice any progression in your skills and find out you just don't care about improving your skills, I will stop beta reading for you. I am NOT a slave that corrects stuff.

I'm pretty good at correcting grammar, and I can spell pretty good. I also can make a plot from an accident if you need a bit of continuation.

I also do make typos, as we all from time to time. I may correct something you don't think needs correcting from a mistake in interpretations, or spelling errors occasionally.

I really like stories that are readable, and these are the types I will beta read for sure: Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Crossovers with Ed, Edd, n Eddy, and Ed, Edd, n Eddy stories with some new characters and stories with good plot.

If it's a crossover I have to know the show being crossed into.

Stories without plot I don't want to beta, because you might begin to think I'm adding a different plot. Also I don't want any "Yeah, the Eds are here, but everyone else I made up" or three characters from the show and no one else from it, just a bunch of extra characters.
