Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I typically look for editing mistakes, and phrases that would confuse the reader. If I see something in plot or dialogue that I don't find enjoyable quality-wise, I tell the author in a nice way. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm good at grammar (with an 'A'!) and I consider myself a good judge on when a story is getting way too descriptive and not paying attention to the characters. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I can be a pushover and get worried about hurting the author's feelings (kinda weird for a Kathy Griffin fan, eh?). Sometimes I can be a bad judge of whether someone has written a character in an OOC fashion until an hour after I read something. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Crackfic, humor, and horror. I alos prefer to betaread for the RENT, Ring/Ringu, Dead Like Me, and SVU fandom. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I will not, under any circumstances, betaread smut/yaoi (description of sex). My parents could walk into the room at any moment. I also typically do not betaread for a fandom that I have not written for. |
