I suppose as a beta, I honestly enjoy reading other peoples work and critiquing it, and will usually go through it quickly and efficiently, though i can take a few days at times. I'm very honest and critical when it comes to editing other people's work, and while I'll put people down gently, I won't hesitate to tell them what's wrong in their story. I'm not very old presently, but I do much-needed critiques on the original fiction of a friend, am writing my own original fiction, and read over another friend's fanfictions before she publishes them as a courtesy. I don't have a whole lot of expectations of people who want me to beta for them, I just want them to give me work that they invested some thought into, at the least.

I tend not to care much about diction, but I'm good at catching faults in plot and general typos, as well as explaining what's wrong with them. If something bugs me in particular, I will go at length to explain why I feel it should be changed, and give sound reasons for my criticism.

I occasionally overlook grammatical errors, especially convoluted ones, and might not be able to tell where characterization is wrong at times. I also have an almost purply prose approach, so I have a tendency to want to make other people's work more descriptive, even when it's not their style or is unnescesary.

I prefer romance and other stories that focus on the emotional facets of the characters as opposed to more plot driven stories, but I enjoy those too, and my favourites are those that mix all three. I guess 'drama' would be the best description for it.

Horror, mostly because horror writing doesn't actually make me scared so I can't appreciate it or critique it based on scare factor.
