Stylistically, I will read your piece three times. The first of which will be as a READER. I will give you in line feedback complete with whatever I'm thinking at that moment, AS A READER. Second, I will give you grammatical nit-picking advice. This is where you will most likely hate me, and I will most likely quit six times and come back to it later. It's not fun. We can agree on that. We can also agree-or disagree, if you're of the mind-that sloppy pieces don't get reviews and they usually don't get read. Third, and this is perhaps the most fun for me, I read through for content. I will make suggestions on where the pacing is too slow or where a character has slipped from their personality.

Grammatically - I tend to excel. br /

Characterization - If I know the fandom and have written for the fandom, I know the characters intimately. I will tell you when Jayne Cobb has grown soft or when Ron has suddenly developed tact and higher cognitive functions.

Dialogue - Jesus H. Christ do I struggle with voice. I've improved, but in my improvement I've realized exactly how terrible I am at it. br /

Tact - I am not gentle. I will beat you over the head with your own characters until they make sense. I do not handle immaturity well, and if I find that you can't take criticism, I will often hit you all the harder. Apologies, I grew up with boys.

Realistic stories - No, not "on earth" stories, but realistic pieces. I don't care if you're writing about a troll that lives in a magic fairy land. I do want that troll to have flaws and strengths. I want that troll to be well thought out. I want to beta read things that I feel I would enjoy reading. I want to help you grow as a writer, but I also want you to realize that I am, by no means, the expert.

I would prefer to beta stories that are not beaten like a dead horse, so to speak. If you character is a female with several different powers with several different very attractive female friends with crazy powers, I probably don't want to read and spend my time on it. If I've seen it a million times, I don't feel it should be written. Don't be offended if I turn you down because of this. All stories have a purpose and an audience. That audience just isn't me.
