Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm not overly harsh, but I am honest. I am extremely nit-picky, when I beta something, expect a lot of red to come with your edited document. I will tell you very specifically what's right or wrong, and if you want me to, I'm willing to spend time going over the details with you. (Free time and all that.) Do not expect me to think highly of works where you don't have the decency to do the basic review in your Word, and I probably will not expect such works. Respect is mutual. I'm friendly though, and I get high easily, so prepare yourselves. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Plots in fandoms which I know, I am quite good at finding what is inherently wrong with your story, and I probably can give suggestions on how to fix it. Character analyzation, pinpointing when your character is getting OOC. Dialogue, which is part of the character. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Brit-picking or Ameri-picking, I tend to get confused. While I can cover your grammar and punctuation as well as the next person, it's only good enough for school - if the fic gets long, I might get lost with your grammar and all. OCs are a strange world to me, but I'm willing to try. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Slash. Femslash. Fandoms which I am familiar with: Merlin, Criminal Minds, NCIS, CSI, CSI: New York, High School Musical, Avatar, Twilight (I'm very specific with pairings I like for this one), Harry Potter, House, Camp Rock, Zoey 101, X-Men: Evolution, Idol RPF, Supernatural RPF, Heroes, Kyle XY, Narnia, Friends, LOTR RPF, LOTR, Constantine. I'll add the rest as I think of them. ^^ |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I'm open to everything really. No het, unless they're in minor pairings. Mary sues are not welcome. Whiny/bitchy characters annoy me. Cliches as well. Canon is something that I don't usually mesh well with. (See the het point. xD) |
