Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi. I'm Siobhan :) I view myself as a generally friendly person, but I'm a very avid reader, so I have high expectations. If you're looking for a beta who's going to be easy on you, and just tell you that all of your work is perfect, you're in the wrong place. I'm brutally honest by nature and I'm more than likely going to have suggestions for your piece. Now, it's your choice of course if you decide to use them, but I'm still gonna put them out there. If I beta for you, I expect your writing to be well written without too many grammar mistakes and trivial spelling errors. I will not accept text talk in a fiction (unless, of course, you are writing out a text conversation. Then it's acceptable.) |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I excel at reading and writing sci-fi (mainly Firefly, Star Trek, and Doctor Who) and I also love crime/reality pieces (NCIS). I love a lot of other fandoms, just PM me to ask if I know it :) I am a stickler for grammar and spelling, and I love being impressed with a good vocab. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not quite that this qualifies as a weakness, but I have a tendency to have a short attention span (along with an eye convergence deficiency that causes my eyes to tire easily) and will sometimes miss things in a story, so if you have questions about a specific part, just ask me to read it in detail. |

I don't like Spock/Kirk fics (they're brothers, not lovers!) Archer/T'pol fics, or Paire (dudes...incest. gross). I'm fine with pretty much all else, but I prefer pairings from my extensive pairing list (above/on my profile page). |
