I go through a fairly long process in order to make sure the fanfiction I am betaing is to full correct standards, and I take paragraph by paragraph and correct that, send it back to the author, make sure I have not made any unacceptable changes, and then I continue. Sometimes if the paragraphs are bulky, I will do it by sentence. I begin firstly by checking if the characters are canon (if it's in the authors note/plot that they are canon characters and not against canon), and if they are not I will notify the author of that and ask permission if I am allowed to make small minor changes, or give tips. Then, I will check the grammar and punctuation. I tend to notice it really quickly, since I am tight on grammar myself. If I feel the paragraphs are then too long, I separate them a little. I may add a connective here and there to make it flow better, but I will NEVER change the story unless as stated above, the characters are not canon - if I am not told they are not meant to be. Basically, I will check it thoroughly. You can rely on me as a beta because I will have it back to you so you can publish it as soon as you wish, and I will do a thorough job. As for expectations from the person who my wish to acquire my services, I expect them to be able to communicate with me during the betaing process, just so that I can get it done quickly, and converse with you about various points. I will not accept anyone being rude to me if I do something you do not like, or give you a pointer/concrit that you do not like. I will also appreciate credit to me for betaing your fic when you publish it.

I find that my strengths are being able to find punctuation/grammar errors at first glance, and I can correct them quickly. I then find myself to be able to find the others quickly as I read through it, too. I find another strength of mine to be being able to make fanfictions flow easily. I just think I am thoroughly good enough to be a really good beta.

I sometimes misinterpret sentences and may correct something that is not needed to be corrected. However, with prompt from you, you could help this. Only a minor flaw.

I don't mind what I beta (except rape themed fics), as long as I understand the plot enough to be able to make sense of the plot.
