I'm a professional writer, with two books under my belt. I'm currently writing a novel using all the tropes I've learnt to love and hate over the last eight years or so. I consider myself relatively "with it" when it comes to recognising a good story and picking out its strengths and flaws. I'm a hard taskmaster and a harsher reader. Please only apply for me if you want honest-to-God criticism.

I want to make your writing the best it can be. I've beta'd quite a lot of people before, and I haven't had a bad word yet. I know spelling, grammar and punctuation. I know how to make a sentence sound poetic. I know when to make a scene start and when to end it. I'm not perfect, and I never will be, but I want to raise an average story to good, and a good story to unstoppable.

I write in British English. I can be cruel. I'm not perfect. I like to have free reign in tinkering with sentence structure and whatnot, which some authors utterly despise. If that's the case, I'm probably not the beta for you.

I prefer well-written, serious fiction. By 'serious' I don't mean emo, wangsty or filled with abortion or suicide other 'serious' and 'edgy' scenes. I'm a big fan of stories that try to push the envelope with originality and characterisation, rewriting trends and tropes.

Romance and screwball comedy aren't my cup of tea, and humour revolving around slapstick or pithy asides from muses are a big no-no. In fact, anything featuring muses talking or the author leaping in to tell us things is not for me.
