Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I expect anyone who wishes to acquire my services to respect my judgement, and take constructive criticism and I will respect their judgement and I will never reject someone point blank and I will never say "your work is terrible, I don't know why I bothered reading this etc. I am only here to edit your work not change the whole story-line, so I will never change major parts of the story. If I do change a small section then I will tell you which part/s I changed and why I changed it/them. I may add extra points that I think need to go in (but that hardly ever happens). I have already edited a number of fanfiction users' works, but before I became a beta reader so it doesn't show up on the records. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am pretty good at editing as I have a very critical and searching (keen) eye, but mostly I do it because I love it! I can also rewrite pieces of stories that I find need tweaking without changing the main story line. Writing from the suggestions of others is one of my main strengths. I'm not really all that pleased about it since, then the main story line would be someones else's idea, but I try my best with what I have :) So far only one of my published stories was a suggestion from a friend. My imagination! yes, I have a wild imagination and can think up just about anything :) if you can think it I am probably thinking something three times crazier :) I play flute, violin, African drum and a bit of piano, so I can do stories involving instruments. I also am heavily involved in dancing (ballet, tap and jazz) and have been dancing since I was 3. 2013 is my 12th year of dancing. I don't really know what that has to do with editing, but I guess it can help when proofreading certain fanfics. :D |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I suffer from writer's block a lot of the time unfortunately. However when I do write, I WRITE, A LOT, kinda crazy I know but that's me! During school time I can't do much. But I know what it is like to wait for EVER for something to get done, so I make sure I'll be able to complete the work given to me before accepting a request. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Stories involving anime such as; full metal alchemist: brotherhood, vampire knight, naruto, -man, hetalia, black butler (Kuroshitsuji), wallflower, Inu x Boku ss, Inuyasha, fruits basket, Fairy Tail, black cat, bleach, haruka (maybe), wanted, they're just the ones I like the most. Books, like: Ranger's Apprentice, Maximum Ride, the Gallagher Girls, Inheritance Series, Harry Potter just about anything! but I mostly like fantasy with lots of romance! and drama I don't mind either (angst). Oh! and you can't forget humour! So - romance, humor, suspense, horror, supernatural, angst, gore, vampires, anything to do with music or dancing - those are my preferred categories. I do not write them, but I will also beta lemons and limes and any citrus in-between, if asked. :) |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Heaps of adventure, war, WAY to much gore etc. overly OTT or OOC or both, making good main characters really really evil and stuff like that. I don't really like overly crack pairings and crossovers with crossed romances and things like that. But usually I'm not too picky, I'm not here to judge after all :) I'm here to help! |
