I'm a good grammar checker, as I have been studying English for a while. I also will check on EVERYTHING there is in the story, and give feedback on good parts and needed improvements. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
When details get drawn out, I really just zone out and I tend to skip many paragraphs until I get to some dialogue or form of action. So don't try to zone the betareaders out! Also, while I am a good grammar checker, if there are too many grammar mistakes or bad paragraphing or it's just illegible, I usually stop reading altogether. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
My preferred stories are usually the "betrayal" stories, because they have different "takes" on the anime/show/game/universe. I like stories that give the characters a different view on their main hero or heroine, or a sharp 180 twist in their personalities because of their twisted close ones. I also like sweet one-shots and just anything that portrays emotion really well. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
There are many things that make me shake my head when I betaread. I don't like stories that get drawn out too easily with non-important dialogue, or juicy elements in the story that get ignored for the rest of other content. I also don't like stories that are all dialogue and not enough details. Overpowered Mary Sues or Gary Sues Perfectionists are pretty detestable too. I don't like OCs that are bland or don't give any meaning at all, or follow the exact same storyline as the main character. An OC to me is someone who changes the story by a lot because their appearance changes a lot of elements in the story. Also, I'm straight, so no yaoi... |
