Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi to anyone that has happened to stumble across this wondrous (not really) little profile of mine! *waves* I really enjoy helping out anyone in need, so I would be happy to assist you in anything you might want to ask of me~ I am blunt and tell you things how it is (as any good beta should), but I like to think that I'm nice about it. I read everything thoroughly to ensure that I don't miss anything. Typically, I will point out both positives and negatives, as well as anything that can be improved. I give a lot of suggestions and comments when I feel it's necessary, but won't write your work for you. However, I usually provide helpful examples whenever possible, and if you need further assistance and are still struggling with something afterwords, then I will gladly work it out with you. I can also work as your 'idea beta', if you need one. It doesn't matter if you have anything written, but just have an idea in mind that needs some fleshing out. I can help with developing ideas, plot-lines, and just the story or one-shot (or whatever it is) as a whole~ |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar is a strong suit of mine! I'm also good at dialogue and can assist you with developing it so that it fits in well with the story, should you need it. I can do anything from sarcasm, wit, sadness, angst, hurt/comfort, joy... etc. I can do plot ideas, details, plot holes, flow, things in the story that are contradictory, and just anything else that you want me to help you with. I'll tell you if you have characters that are OOC (unless it is intentional) and ways that you can improve on that, along with character building and development. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I can improve on descriptions, such as describing a room or an object. I also don't have a lot of practice writing action scenes. 'Mushy gushy' stuff isn't my strong suit romance wise, but if it's fluffy stuff that doesn't have to do with romance, then I'm good! (Like brotherly fluff or father/child bonding, for example) |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Anything listed below is what I'm willing to beta for, as well as a few others. I love DC Comics, so anything about that will be awesome! I also love crossovers too, but it doesn't matter. Anything Danny Phantom (I particularly enjoy these, ESPECIALLY DP CROSSOVERS), Batman, Young Justice, Teen Titans, Justice League, and a few others. I'll read anything from hard core angst, bloody and gory stuff, to happy and fluffy fics. I don't really care ;D But I love stories that really mess with your feels (which can also be fluffy, and/or hurt/comfort, and angst). |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Love stories... If the whole story is about romance and love, then I will most likely lose interest very quickly. If it's a side pairing that the story isn't completely focused on, then that's fine. That's about it. PM ME, GRASSHOPPER! |
