I am Babykoalaprincess (BKP), and I have beta read for a few authoresses for the past few years. A few of those authoresses include Lyxie, Berlin's Brown Eyes, and Royal Kenya. All of whom are authoresses I highly respect and have given my opinions/criticism to.

I'll often tell an author my comments, ideas, and suggestions about their fan fiction. Of course, grammar is an issue for me, so I may over-look grammar mistakes. People, who wish for me to beta read, should have a strong grammar background. What I accomplish as a beta reader is that I don't change the author's/authoress's style of writing, but critique it and give suggestions on how to make the story stronger. I'll often point it out using different color fonts or I'll point it out as I'm reading the story in an e-mail.

The expectations I have for an author/authoress, who want me to beta read, is that he/she has a very strong grammar background. I need an author/authoress like this, so that I will be able to focus more on the story as opposed to technical issues. My strengths as a beta reader are description, dialogue, character development, and symbolism. I'll point out the good and the bad in a fan fiction, and always give the author/authoress a positive end note!

My weaknesses also include grammar, awkward phrasing, and some uncreative ideas. So, always be prepared to make your own decisions when you have me as a beta reader. You are always welcome to take some of my suggestions and use your own.

I prefer to beta read stories involving my favorite pairings that are listed on my profile. I also like a fan fiction with a killer plot line with interesting twists and turns. I also prefer reading stories about romances growing in which mature love is shown, not ideal, sexual love. I also like reading stories that suck the reader into the story and still hooks them in all the way to the end.

Stories I do not wish to beta read are stories which involve Mary Sues/Gary Stus, character bashing, characters that are out of character, plagiarism, souless or dramatic romances, horrible spelling, and basic grammar errors.
