I am slowly getting back to reading NCIS stories .So I know its been a while but I just found this.
wow ! it cant end like this. Gibbs needs to be able to move passed this. Him and Tony get back to normal.

This was so good - it's deliciously satisfying to see Gibbs squirm and agonize for so much of this story over how badly he's treated Tony over the years. DiNozzo has put up with far more than any of us would in real life. Gibbs dealt with it in exactly the way one might expect - ignore it and hope it goes away. And of course, it didn't. I laughed out loud when he outed himself! Now THAT's karma!

Tony's final resignation letter is brilliant, and just the sort of thing he would do - giving Gibbs an 'out' yet again. Will he take it? Please, tell us!

Can Gibbs forget? Clearly not he had already demostrated that he couldn't. But Gibbs also missed something else very important. The fact that Tony had the highest scores on the audit. Something as Tony said he should have told him about Tim and Ziva's scores. Would it have hurt for Gibbs to tell him how well Tony did and how they had done? Yet it would have hurt Gibbs because then it would show Tim and Ziva the fact that he was not on the save level as them. They might even start to accept the fact that Tony was their superior. This has clearly always been a problem with Gibbs. There can only be one alpha and it's him. In fact he has always gone even one step futher. He has allowed, Todd, Ziva and Tim all to act superior to Tony and he has treated them as if they were.

NOOOO! Not the end.

Oh sadly believable and wonderful and sad...

Lovely fic, Gibbs tripping over himself around Tony had me in stitches. Thoroughly enjoyable. Hope there's more!

I was chuckling when I read those first three resignation letters - they were perfect. How ironic that Gibbs was upset by them, yet couldn't/wouldn't change his ways. He really blew it though by refusing to share the results of that audit review with his team, specifically his SFA. He really doesn't get it does he; not only should he have informed his team that they had scored highly, but he should also have let Tony know Tim's and Ziva's relatively weak scores so that he could help them improve - it is his job as SFA after all and he has the experience that they don't.

As for that final letter, Tony is wrong. Things SHOULDN'T go back to the way they were. They need to improve. Gibbs' problem is that he is too secretive, uncommunicative and bloody-minded, and doesn't share information when he should. He is a dinosaur who needs to either change his ways or step aside and allow Tony - who is perfectly capable and has better people skills - to take over as Team Leader. Certainly, I don't think Tony should resign as he is far too valuable to the agency and I would be surprised if Vance didn't come up with an alternative post for him.

Hello, I've read this story long time ago but never thought this is recent I've look through ficfind comments for story reading. I always felt Tony worth a dime on his own to find reason and anchor to figure out what's he want in life, and Gibbs' one part of it as it wasn't easy to make after long days in NCIS. If this letters had that affect on Gibbs, I can't imagine if he read reprimands or complaints file not only Tony made like other agents, as well as security guard wonder why Tony pull nighties working on own Gibbs in Mexico. I'm happy Gibbs stop ignoring and being oblivious, he owe that much niceness even Tony don't felt deserved, but Tony does, during Morrow reign they are together. I like this story, when Gibbs stopped ignoring.

Great story! So many details and occasions covered that had me wanting to head slap Gibbs, so it was nice to let Gibbs see Tony's perspective and feelings concerning some of Gibbs' actions. I thought it was very realistic that Gibbs didn't know how to react and therefore didn't manage to mask his discomfort completely.

I have to admit my favorite part is the one about the results of the external audit. Gibbs' not mentioning anything to Tony, Ziva or McGee (or anybody else) mirrors his behavior on the show. He doesn't enforce the chain of comment and the fact that Tony is the superior as SFA, he doesn't actually leads the team with Tony, but expects it anyway and he doesn't acknowledge that Tony actually has a lot of qualities because of his long experience the others are lacking.

I could have lived without the last letter (mostly because in my dreamworld Gibbs openly supports Tony), but on the other hand I actually think it is a great ending. The issues would never be solved overnight and this way we can find our own most likely solution.

I DON'T EVEN CARE IF TONY DOES LEAVE JUST WRITE AN EPILOGUE OR ANOTHER CHAPTER OR A SEQUEL OR SOMETHING! YOU'RE KILLING ME! I like how you wrote this. I guess we can each decide what Gibbs will do.
