Imagine my surprise at you're mentioning Hardly loquacious as your inspiration. Because I definitely hadn't expected to find any connection between "The Mentalist" fandom & the "Detective Conan" fandom. But my, oh my, was I wrong.
I'm guessing if you're a fan of Hardly loquacious, one of the admired "The Mentalist" fanfic writers, then you're also the fan of the show. I'm too a fan of both the fandoms. I just never gyessed someone like me would be a fan of Anime and american drama shows. And was honestly surprised as how the two characters from both the show are similar with a little bit of role reversal.
I had read the original Long Lost Long Last and i found this one to be fitting too ( but a little ooc, I won't lie).
If any one is reading this review, and like CoXAi Pairing, Do me and yourself a favor, watch the American Police Procedural tv series "The Mentalist", TRUST ME YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

100th comments! And it's Dy again! Yes, I already post my 1st comment 3 years ago, on March 25, 2017 to be exact... and I still reread this story again and again! Our Detective Conan's story maybe in the begining of its climax, but even with certain recent development in chapter 1005, I still root and will always root for Co-Ai! Confession in the middle of story, not in the end? So what will happen in the end? Break-up? LOL! And what is it? Already boyfriend-girlfriend but not even once they communicating each-other by phone, just by e-mail! Nani soreeee?

I really appreciate you acknowledging Ran and Shinichi's close ties despite everything instead of demonizes her, the way people oft to do when having to deal with a hypothenuse (a heavily canon hypothenuse at that). All in all, I think this is very in character. Ran might even tease him for the postcards and excitedly listen to his random meandering thoughts about Haibara's travels once things have cooled a bit and it stops stinging.

I am neutral between Shinichi/Shiho and Shinichi/Ran, but I could see how so big of a change could impact them. You make a compelling case.

It's hard to pick a favorite scene. Haibara's snarkiness is on point, and the scene with Hattori is pure joy.
That "Irene Adler" bits at the end is also a good one.

I'm not going to correct you on absolutelly anything. This story is more than I can express with words. Tears filled my eyes with every postcard exchange as it felt like they were together even if in different parts of the world. I honestly can't think of the last time I felt this happy reading a story. I feel like crying as I write this...
Think of the millions of stories on the number of series, books, games, etc. the whole of is made up with and I say without a doubt "Anime/Manga - Detective Conan/Case Closed - 500 Days Without You" is THE BEST story I've ever read and will ever read!
The funny thing is, I wasn't sure I really liked CoAi/ShinShi this much before. Now, I know, I'm in love with it.

I have been on this platform for just over a week and this is the first work I read that felt like a writer in the making. As i was reading this, I hoped that someday I would see your name on the front cover of a real book. This was better that any romantic subplot in the works of Gosho Aoyoma himself.

I died and came back to life. This is arguably one of the best fanfic I’ve ever read, and believe me, I have read a lot. Amazing work you got here. You really did capture the reason why I think Haibara is better for Shinichi than Ran ever could: She was his Adler and his equal. There will always be a gap that separates Shinichi and Ran, while what is between Sherry and Shin is effortless and as transparent as could be.

For such a masterpiece, I hope you're still alive creating more CoAi fics...

This is by far the best fanfiction I have ever read and ever will read for this pairing. All of their actions felt in character and believeable, not to mention, the story itself was simple, yet not too word heavy as to drag the story on, which kept me interested. I usually skim over some parts when reading, but this story had me read word for word. I also like how you didn’t unrealistically make Shinichi suddenly not want to be with Ran (cough like most other CoAi stories) and showed how his emotions and thoughts changed slowly throughout the story’s timeline, which definitely made me feel like more connected to the story. Thanks so much for writing this!

You know what, this is my favorite Shinichi/Shiho or Conan/Ai fic ever! It's simple, easy to understand, and yet so well-written and all the emotions that I felt through reading this just blew everything out of the water. I don't how to properly express my feelings and thoughts for this fic. All I know is that it's really, really great. If I can, I would like to give all the compliments that I can because that's how great this fic is. It's something that I can read and read all over again and I wouldn't mind one bit.
