Oh that ending, sighs. those words...welcoming the painful burn...so sad...he couldn't focus enough to think of Annika! Sobs! :'(

Everything about this chapter was very sad to some degree, everyone is suffering, everyone is keeping secrets. Kathryn's attitude throughout was so her, she really does not see the bigger picture at times and is very close minded about what she wants, feels or thinks and expects others to fall in line. I could sense Chakotay's frustration with her.

Then poor Annika, she felt dismissed by her parents, she knows and is anxious. I really felt for her here. Your writing is so amazing, the way you described not only her inner thoughts but Chakotay's as well was amazing. I am so impressed.

The part where you mentioned Seska and how Chakotay's relationship with her had forever poisoned his perception of having another. You could really feel his empathy toward Annika and she is slowly responding to it!

Katherine has made chakotay out to be a Don Juan in Annika's mind!

This was a really moving chapter, I could even feel my self start to get a little teary eyed though it.

I loved Annikas determination and her iner strength, though I would still profer the seven of nine we all know in this kind of situation but you have done a fantastic job a bringing this version of her to life.

I'm glad that Chakotay relidesd he was being to clingy and gave Annika the space and respect she both needs and diserves.

But my god Janeway is a bitch, she is so possessive and needed and just plain mean. I know this is going to sound strange coming form me, but you tend to do this you your stories, you venerate seven and Chakotay but you make everyone else look like petty egomaniacs or caniveing Control freaks.

Not that that's enough to dislike this story, no not at all.
This was a great chapter, it's good to know you haven't forgotten your older works, but in that spirit could you please update come away with me into the night.

Snap, I just realized, if this is a "Resolutions" re-write, then Seska is still alive, isn't she! I wonder if a "Basics" re-write will end up being worked into this story. Or maybe Seska will remain out of the picture, occupied with her usual un-successful Kazon allies, as she seemed to be for most of the first two seasons.

In any case, I'm glad you're continuing this. This was another good chapter, and I'm dying to know what's really going on between Annika's family and the secret network of allies they appear to have.

This is just a suggestion, and probably one too over-the-top and silly for your fanfic, but anyway, here it is: you should consider a scene where the monkey from "Resolutions" appears, and through some series of circumstances, the characters are forced to cook and eat it, to keep from starving, or something. Or maybe have it show up and act "cute" until some predator suddenly chomps down on it, or a Borg blast vaporizes it or something. Like I said, just a suggestion.

Why are you not finishing this? Wonderful plot, can't wait to read more!

Oh poor Erin. Oh god, that was awful (not the writing, obviously, the nightmare)! I wondered what had happened to Annika. Poor, sweet little girl.

Wonderful chapter- this is definitely one of my favourite stories out there at the moment. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
