Rain water can be very dirty. The more particles of various sources in the air (such as an urban, large scale warzone) the worse it van be. Always boil your water. Exact same goes for snow\ice, which can be worse at times (greater odds for contaminants and for particulates (dust, dirt, etc).

Melted snow water with some particulates just feels\tastes 'off'. It is still drinkable, and would be much preferable over drinking piss.

'Glacial' purity is a lie.

Now that the two of them hopefully worked out their differences, maybe they can pull of this mission.

Of course I would not be suprised if something bad is going to happen next chapter. Like the enemy discovering their "HQ" (the office they were hiding in) along with all the equipment they got from the Mechanicus. Now that would suck.

Damn, what a day poor guy had.
Getting nearly caught by the enemy, nearly shredded to pieces by artilery, receiving a hight-importance mission from the Mechanicus (or the Skitarii) and getting the attention of a demon of Nurgle.
At least he got suplies from the Ordo Mechanicus and later will even get new weapons and support.

Uh oh! The "Soilder" is in deeb trouble whe this is over. Either Vicker turn out to be innocent somehow and he'll be court martialed for doing all this to his officer, OR she'll be considered a heretic and he'll be court martialed for sleeping with the enemy.
If he want to get out of this alive, I suppose he have to go all "Sly Marbo" and do something very heroic to be forgiven.

I love how the Guardsmans identity is left anonamious. Gives the story a 40k edge, because being a man in the grim darkness of the fourty-first millenium means to be one amongst billions others.

This is a amazing story. I Cant wait to see the next chapter!
