I loved this precious moment between Matthew and George. Not many of them on here. I think they missed the opportunity in the show, to show Matthew affected by the war. There's not far too many of those either.

I loved this! Great interaction between married Matthew and Mary. Matthew's apprehension of George growing up is touching and understandable. George has his own particular personality and it feels real to me. Well done!

I'm so glad you posted this here for us to enjoy. Wonderful writing. It felt so right that Matthew was affected by the idea of taking George for a shoot and to learn to kill, in a way that he wasn't when it was just him (Matthew) at a shoot or hunt. The story stood in contrast to how we saw Matthew in the Christmas specials when he was okay with the guns.

Lovely story. I can just imagine Robert pushing to take George hunting, and Matthew finding another way to be with his family. Loved this story.

Lovely story, I think the defining moment is when "he is safe and warm and loved." How wonderful, and exactly what any parent wishes for their child.
