This was so true to the characters and so well-developed. I like how you did the flashbacks peppered with Malcolm's musings. Very unique.

This is an absolutely astonishing story. I was riveted from beginning to while I'm something of a Malcolm fan, I'm not usually much of a fan of Malcolm and Hoshi. But when you write it, I believe it.

Malcolm is beautifully characterized throughout: his doubts, his insecurities, his desire to do the right thing. And Hoshi is lovely, clever, and admirable, worthy in every way of his love.

Your plot pacing is superb. I was so anxious to know what was coming next, I couldn't take my eyes from the screen.

Thank you Xenutia for this marvelously written, incredibly imaginative piece. The flow of your words and vocabulary are like poetry. The psychological component is fascinating - especially the use of Hoshi's voice to urge him to do what they say.

And, it was nice to see that Hoshi was not the 'wet-behind the ears' Ensign that Malcolm had originally thought, and that when she had screamed it was to help him. I also liked to see the strength coming out in Hoshi. She rescued him.

Loved the way you portrayed Malcolm, as well - his struggle between doing what's right in terms of his job, and what he wants (ie the Lt Reed vs Malcolm debate)

I printed out all 7 chapters and read them over carefully last night (took over 1 1/2 hours but worth every minute!) - you left me in awe.

I hope the inspiration strikes for another story soon. By the way, I had 'Windows' in my favorite stories list, but now I'll have to add you to favorite authors!
