Loved this story. As a fellow marine biology student (if only 3rd year BSc) it obviously appeals greatly and would be interested in your research if you are up for sharing. Can't say I've done much research into cephalopoda but their tool use I do find fascinating.

I have also now seen the footage for the octopus thief! I'm also as freaked out by Richard touching Olympus as he probably was, they are so weird to touch - never touched one outside of water though! instead of the cuttlefish perhaps you could have an angry tourist demand they bring an assault charge against a turtle that bit his finger as he tried to feed it...

Aww that was lovely! :D Yes a story involving an assault from a cuttle fish would be good but believe it or not, there are no cuttle fish in any of the waters off the Americas, which includes the Caribbean for some reason! The closest you will get to that is
Sepioteuthis sepioidea otherwise known as Caribbean Reef Squid, which is often mistaken for a cuttlefish, as it can look similar but is an actual true squid... oops! I'm doing a 'Richard' and getting a bit science-y & off track ;-)
