Nice! I really love the idea of Death being a narrator, and your take on souls and how they would work is really fascinating! Fili and Kili's sould are supposed to be together *cue tears* and that last line was just perfect. Dwalin and Dis broke my heart, so well done!

Having it from Death's point of view was so innovative, and I loved how you still characterized each of them by the way they died. Handled perfectly, and I don't have enough praise for this. I really need to start checking if a fanfiction is catagorized under "Angst". This was very well written. Really struck home for me.

I realize that this was posted nearly a year ago, but I have only recently joined the site and found it, and I wanted to drop you a note about how much I love this story. Don't get me wrong, I have always been a fan of the line of Durin, and their deaths break my heart - but this story both elegant and heartbreaking. I cry every time I read it (and I have read it quite a bit), but it is so right, so true to their characters. Fili enduring the pain to protect his brother, Kili demanding to go with him, being two parts of the same soul, even Thorin's relief in death - the imagery is beautiful. I just wanted to let you know that (and this is the first review I've ever written, because I am painfully shy, so that proves how moved I was, right?). All of your stories that I have read are lovely, but this is, oddly, my favorite.

I have a morbid liking for literal death!fics of this sort, but this is the first I've ever seen for a Grim Reaper (or something of that ilk) in Middle-earth. I guess you could explain it as an agent of Mandos? Eh. Lovely fic, anyway. I liked how each character who died (an Dwalin) were characterized and how the narrator was also characterized thereby. It flowed so smoothly it all happened almost without even being noticed.

Ohh why are you so good at invoking The Feels? Why? T-T
