Another awesome chapter, can’t wait for the next update! Really digging naruto’s characterization, especially towards the end. Trying to lure itachi out to deal with him for satsuki seems a very naruto thing to do, but also kinda suicidal and reckless which fits. Excited to see how this wraps up and where it goes with the next arc. I don’t know how it’d be setup, but for some reason I feel like I could see naruto’s crew, hidan/Kakuzu/akatsuki and Konoha all running into each other in one glorious mess (assuming Naruto and friends make it out of here in one piece). Maybe Karin mentions the fire temple and rumors of the pseudo-jinchuriki there to naruto and they go to investigate, see if nature can learn anything from him or gain better control? But yeah nice work, keep it up!

Poor Naruto. Itachi is kind of right about him. His actions are extremely self-destructive. It’s strange he’d mention itachi putting he into a coma when he injured her almost as bad, I felt not just as...but he probably already is self-depreciating anyway. I’m curious to see your depiction of Karen after what kimimaru’s said. And I anxiously await your update per usual!

Imagine writing this for 6 years without having planned anything in advance while keeping this level of quality. I congratulate you. There's not many who can write just above the average writing quality on this site but you can while doing it for 6 years. That takes amazing skills. I hope you one day write your own original fiction. If you can spend 6 years on this thing with no end in site, imagine what you can do with your own ideas. Can't wait for that day. Deep fried 'gator' at the state fair is really good even though it's probably just chicken. Awesome freaking chapter. All of it was so badass. It's great to see Naruto kick ass for Satsuki. Loved the conversation at the end. So menacing. Love how the fox works. Your story is just so good.

This is so epic it felt like a blow to the gut when I reached the end of this chapter. This is probably my favorite fic on this website. Thanks for all your hard work, you're a great writer. I wonder, if Naruto actually killed Itachi, how would Satsuki feel about him if she found out about the coup? Hope you're not setting us up for more angst, but at the same time, I'm kind of looking forward to it.

Great chapter, by the by. Your portrayal of Naruto is a sight to see. Those final lines that implied he's losing control; the moment where he thought he was but quickly corrected that he wasn't seemed to be a bit of arrogance and influence of the fox? Chilling.

From what I can tell, Naruto is self destructive but still cares for Satsuki to a fault. So he doesn't care what really happens to him but has a misplaced sense of... what, loyalty? Affection? For Satsuki. Wonder what Itachi thinks of this. Proably wanna kill the shrimp for being a bad influence. No wonder the girl has severe abandonment issues.

So Naruto is letting the kyuubi loose and itachi has him in a genjutsu? Bad situation, though I feel that itachi strength was shown adequately (after all Naruto never managed to touch him until he had Chakra mode and itachi was controlled)

Great chapter! To me this chapter seemed like subtle fire back at all the criticisms people have had about your characterization of Naruto and his “lack of intelligence”. And the complaints of their not being enough Naruto. But you have to build the characters around him to make him nuanced and and have purpose! And you’ve continued to do that greatly. I enjoyed this chapter a lot, it gave Naruto even more depth into who he is as a person, and the extent he’s willing to go for his friends. Naruto is willing to do anything he can to try and “save” those he cares about, and his ending dialogue with Itachi showed that amazingly. His goal is sick, it’s twisted, and downright insane! But it makes sense. He has a savior complex but he just doesn’t know it. The boy has gone onto burden himself for Satsuki’s sake, to save her from herself if I interpret that correctly. But he’s missing the point that sometimes we have to make our own mistakes and not be coddled by the people who care about us. But regardless, this was a great chapter and it’s definitely one I’ll revisit in the future. Great job!
