Very clever with the grandma walker thing. I did notice that neither did what they said they would do in the morning - Daryl didn't clean up (which caused Beth's panic) and Beth didn't apologize for goading him. At least you didn't mention that they did. Either way, it was a good chapter.

Very nicely done. There's enough tension between them to know something's bound to happen, but it's not forced at all. I really thought Daryl would have a bigger reaction from reading her diary, maybe a little repentant for being overly snarky. Oh well. Onward.

I always have mixed feelings when they find an untouched house like this. I'm excited for them that they have shelter and food and all, but it's almost always too good to be true.

This is a really great story so sad that you haven't updated it in so long. Hopefully one day you will come back and finish.
