Oh I really liked this. It was short but conveyed so much, I believe that he actually does care deeply for her. He is afraid to show his true feelings. So he denies them in order to keep her safe. (or at least he hopes it will do that)

I love this story. It seems simple at first glance but the more you read the more you realize it touches the core of things, of feelings.
It shows Sherlock as people see him and also how opposite he truly is.

Aww. They need to get together next season or I am going to lose my shit okay. Wonderful succinct writing. Good job. I hate it when people carry on so needlessly, although I must admit that I often fall into the trap of trying to write images and feelings more than the actual narrative exposition. Nice work.
