Reviews for The Origin Of Tintin
Blackpenny chapter 1 . 6/23/2015
Very nice explanation of the character's determination and rootlessness.
Princess Unikitty chapter 1 . 4/10/2015
Not bad. I think this is a pretty plausible origin, and an explanation for Tintin's solitude in the first few albums - shunned by the world around him, he turned to the written word, and was dedicated to creating ever more of it; Snowy, and later Haddock, only came into his life by chance. (Quite literally, in the latter case).

I like the name you've given Tintin; at least the first name, anyway. I'm not sure why he would use the last name Herge; I know in reality it was GR backwards said phonetically, but in the story there doesn't seem to be much of a reason. Also, the fact that most of the other names seem to be English ones (Tony, Wilson, Edgington) when the story is set in Brussels - surely there would be a lot of French, Dutch, and Flemish names too. Finally, the criminals' behaviour seems a little out of place (the swearing, mostly), but that complaint only holds water if this is set in the time period of the comic.

Otherwise, this is great! I'd like to see a continuation - how Tintin goes from interviewee to interviewer, and how he ends up snagging the gig that sends him to Russia...

TheDogLover chapter 1 . 4/5/2014
Oh! You must continue! You simply MUST!
By the way, I caught a little mistake
You wrote :
She run things in the orphanage
Which should be
She runS things in the orphanage
I was just nitpicking, though
You can ignore that x)
But otherwise, SUPERB!

Love,
TheDogLover
