MPREG! Theoretically. Originally, I thought Harry was just Severus's from another woman, possibly Bella or another DE. Might even be from a revel victim since the conception sounded traumatizing and Poppy made noises about Lily not seeming to fit post pregnancy expectations.

But then Albus keep implying the conception/truth to be traumatic enough for even Severus, Hogwarts reknowned trauma survivor, to develop retrograde amnesia well, dub con was on the table and magic is not rational. I thought it would be a DE still, or even Tommy old boy, but then James enters the picture and goes berserk on Lily. Hence, Harry is still a Potter(?). Although if true, ironically, Lily was the one that signed the birth certificate while James hadn't. Also, Harry still does have his mother's eyes.

Maybe Lily made that one popular as personal reminder of Harry's parentage. Or maybe my originally theories had more merit. I think my mpreg theory is still fun though. XD

I just found this story and am very impressed by your writing! The depth of the insight into mental health and reactions to trauma is insightful and I’m enjoying the development of Severus’s character as well as his flaws. Thank you for an interesting new take on a Severitus story!

Wow what a great update and what a joy it was to reread this! I never mind when things go a long time without being updated, because then I end up rereading the story in entirety and its almost like finding it again for the first time. I am so glad you updated though, and plan to continue. This is such an interesting, compelling, and well done story and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Hey, I know it’s been forever since you wrote this and you might not even visit this site but I just wanted to let you know you much I appreciated the start of this story. It goes in a different direction than most severitus fan fictions do. I like the amount of emotional depth that you see Severus displaying as well as how intricate everyone’s reactions are. The fact that this is occurs during first year offers a better perspective than I feel many of the other fanfics do. Anyway, I’m not expecting that you’ll update this but I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed what you have published.
