This was just breathtakingly, exquisitely written. I just loved how raw Kate was with Castle. He is definitely her rock, and she is his. "Belly of the Beast" was one of my favorite episodes, and so wished they would have included some of the bedroom scene in the show or at the very least her telling him about her letter to him.
It's so true that he is so in tune with her feelings, and him squeezing her hand to bring her out of terrible thoughts was just so on point with him. And him helping her lay down in bed, he is just so patient and loving. Seriously!? How can he be divorced twice, lol? And her telling him about the letter really just made me feel so relieved that she was really putting herself out there, no secrets, no lies and it was so refreshing yet heartbreaking to feel her love mixed with her fear of leaving him behind. And the constant mention of how safe, warm and loved he makes her feel, really just did me in. LOVED, LOVED the line, "You are the best thing that's ever happened to me." So rare to witness that side to her and Castle always had a way of bringing her soft, sentimental side out of her.
Just loved how choked up he was over it and him and her both crying in bed was so intimate and felt very real. And would have liked to have witnessed that in the show when they became a serious couple.
I know you no longer write for Castle FF but I wanted to leave a review saying this is definitely in my top 10 favorite stories.
