Belphegor chapter 1 . 9/21/2019
"Jonathan's a lot smarter than the lost third movie gave him credit for." I'm sure there's an universe somewhere in the Trousers of Time where the third movie is good, but since we live in this particular leg I prefer to think it doesn't exist. Especially when there's fanfictions like this one, which I've just reread for the second time (third reading, then) and is so, so lovely. It's funny, it's honest, it breaks your heart, and it just pieces it together again. GREAT use of some of the beats from the films, and I love how your write this little family. And thank you for reminding me of why I basically fell in love with Jonathan's character twenty odd years ago :o) Really, a wonderful story. Thank you so much for writing and sharing it!
Shaitarn chapter 1 . 10/27/2017
This is a lovely story - I feel that you've really caught the personalities of the characters here, and you're right, Jonathan doesn't get enough appreciation!
Guest chapter 1 . 6/9/2017
I honestly love Jonathan, and this might be the only fanfic I've read that did him justice. Thank you for the wonderful read. Also... For getting what it feels like to be a big sibling spot on.
BooksAreMedicine chapter 1 . 12/18/2016

I just found this...so glad I did. I feel exactly about Jonathan as you do and think you've captured his personality, warts and all, perfectly. Lovely little story-thanks for sharing it!
IcyWaters chapter 1 . 3/16/2016
Excellent. This is beautifully written and a wonderful nod to Jonathan. I admire how you touch upon the ups and downs in the Carnahan siblings' lives, from Jonathan as the proud new big brother who vows to always look after Evelyn to his downward spiral to his redemption in her eyes.

This line was especially profound: "He wonders when his baby sister became the older sibling." Those few words say so much about their changing relationship.

Even though everything is not always rosy and Evie loses that childlike wonder for a spell, there are delightful bits of humor. I got a good laugh at her reaction to finding her brother in her bed. I also laughed when Jonathan realized he would have to call O'Connell by his first name: "O'Connell—oh Lord, he's got to call him Rick now." I could hear him saying that!

Thank you for allowing Jonathan the recognition he deserves and giving him more depth than we saw in the movies.
Minecraft Guardiansaiyan chapter 1 . 6/15/2015
He's smart...he is just underestimated and very sly in a drunk as hell sort of way...
Sand-wolf579 chapter 1 . 3/1/2015
Yes, Jonathan is very, very under appreciated. Seriously, he's awesome. And this fanfiction just shows that so well. Bravo to you.

Bookworm Gal chapter 1 . 5/11/2014
This is absolutely wonderful. I was always a fan of comic relief characters and exploring their depths. This is a very nice story for Jonathan. Great work.
feckoff chapter 1 . 4/27/2014
Warm fuzzy fluffy feels. I approve.(and I agree that the third movie sucked.)
