Sprengkamp chapter 2 . 11/3/2019 A interesting side story as I am quite interested in history it is funny to see how the world history can by spun with the incorporation of magic. I am just finding not correct/lacking that Grindelwald have brought with 28 years WW1 to Europa. I would think that the Royal family's of the time should have wizards in ther security detail, and that Grindelwald would have a hard time to establish himself in the politics of Prussia. Otherwise is this history lesson a good world builder for your main story. |
The Gnomist chapter 1 . 8/13/2017 would love to see more of this |
Qoheleth chapter 1 . 5/22/2017 Dear Publicola: Well, this is disappointing. I was looking forward to an actual Sellar and Yeatman parody, complete with test paper urging the candidate to "(Be brave)", "(Be learned)", "(Be loyal)", and "(Be cunning)". It's all very well to want to resolve a tedious dilemma, but one oughtn't to commit false advertising to do it, surely. (And, since it would be churlish of me to make the complaint without proposing a solution - the more so as I've already claimed the ideal title for a similar story of my own - I hereby offer the following possibilities off the top of my head: "The Great Unlearning"; "What Really Happened"; "Fact-Checking"; "Unknown Unknowns"; "Unconventional Wisdom".) Sincerely, Qoheleth |

Random number generator chapter 2 . 7/28/2015 I wonder how far that view is from "true" history. Either ration of magical to nonmagical deeply changed across history or there would be not enough magic users for every tribe to have one. So I see possibilities (1) this worlds has unreasonably high ratio magical to nonmagical humans (around 20:1), enough for every tribe to have one active. (2) this ratio changed across history (3) early magicals were not part of one tribe but visited many (4) most of tribes were without true shaman (and therefore importance of magic was much lower than presented in this lecture - especially as it was also just starting to develop). |
