One of the most intriguing THG stories I've come across. You've managed to develop a world that's almost more terrifying than the dystopia existing in THG, because it's so real - the druggie aunt, abusive care workers and negligent system. Prim and Rue were exceedingly lucky to escape unscathed! There was so much going on that it was actually a relief for Katniss and Peeta to have less conflict than usual in their relationship and acknowledgement of their feelings. Thanks for sharing.

I first read this a while back, when there were only I think 11 or 12 chapters posted. I had forgotten it for a while but then I received the notification for chapter 20 of this story so I pushed aside anything I was working on and read this. Reading it in its entirety, seeing how every character changed throughout the story was..im speechless haha! There's so much I want to say but I'll only say this: you did not disappoint. It was better than I imagined and I'm happy how everything turned out. :)

She's naming her baby after her ex? I get that he was important to her but that's weird and disrespectful. I, for one, would not be okay with it. I've read a couple of other fics where this happens, but it's never the name of the guy's ex that is passed onto the kid. Funny that.

Great story. Small nitpick: how did Katniss come to be homecoming queen? It seems kinda weird since you characterized her as having never been very sociable.

Oh my goodness talk about worth waiting for this chapter just blew me away didn't see any of this coming. My heart goes out to Rue never having the simple things in life just like a family dinner.

I'm terrified for Rue, her family, Katniss, Prim and Peeta. Things don't look good for them just when everyone seem to be doing well. Till the next chapter can't wait but scared all at the same time.

The chapter started out so sweet. Prim was able to fufilled a dream for Rue. She was able to give what Prim put into her drawing about a happy family. Rue experienced first hand what it is to cook/watch movies and just enjoyed being a family. Finally, Peeta and Katniss declared their love for each other. It was so unexpected which made it more meaningful. Like Rue said, it must have been the cheese buns!

Finnick is so enamored with Annie. It is so cute to read. He nows every facets of Annie's eyes/body language and overall personality. He acts like a young school kid around her. Yet, they are going to get coffee which is a good step.

Now, the evil has entered. Cato is going to tortured the Aunt to find out where is Rue. Alma Coin is wholeheartedly told Cato to do it. Also, she is thinking of ways and means to deal with Katniss and Peeta...

Great job!

What a sweet family time with all of the giggling between Prim and Rue, and Katniss and Peeta curled up together declaring their love for one another. Such a contrast to the brutal words spoken in the meeting between Cato and Albert Coin.
