AShallowGrave chapter 1 . 7/29/2018
I love this so much! Please, please write more like this! This is so funny and the characters (especially Severus) are perfect! ;D
arhangle chapter 1 . 11/15/2017
Nicely written and informative.i like your verse Severus—the idea that he was this repressed prankster who couldn’t help but be charming/adorable in his own Dark Slytherin-esque way.
On another note though, would you be able to recomend some pop psychology titles that i could perhaps find in pdf version online readig?
excessivelyperky chapter 1 . 6/28/2017
Clearly, Severus is overthinking the problem, but given that the other staff members seem perfectly happy (or at least resigned to) the status quo of Gryffindor Uber Alles and Slytherins as the goat. Flitwick and Sprout are pretty used to resolving the problem by letting Slytherin taking the heat, because after all, Minerva is so well-intentioned. Poppy does see the problem, but is worried about the tactics that Severus is using, and isn't backing him up with the stats you know she has on how badly the competition works out for Slytherin. Plus, the three neutral parties are also aware that if Minerva is too harsh on her Gryffindors, there's likely to be blowback from the Headmaster if his current favorites are involved.

However, the fact that Sev agrees that Bellatrix was a dangerous loony, gives him some street cred with the other staff members-but they're still holding back hoping they don't have to do anything.

But Poppy looks the other way when Snape takes the measures that he does (after being provided with the counters for all those lovely curses, of course)-because she knows he's right. But then, she couldn't make any headway with the powers that be when Snape was being abused, and it's clear she's pretty helpless, or least feels that way-even though she could probably call for a review by St. Mungo's if she didn't feel that the Headmaster would likely replace her with someone even more compliant.
BlueWater5 chapter 1 . 7/13/2016
Great story! I loved the interaction of the teachers and Snape's explanations.
Fenris Jin chapter 1 . 2/20/2016
This was a very entertaining read. Admittedly sometimes I really have to think things over to understand most of what's being said. XD

Vindictus Viridian would have been a fitting pseudonym. Vindictive Snakes. XD

I think Filius and Severus would have been good friends, with the former a charms professor and the latter a spell smith as well. :)
green-jedi chapter 1 . 1/19/2016
Bwahahaha! Hilariously clever! I love your twisty mind! :D
waddiwasiwitch chapter 1 . 11/7/2015
This was very enjoyable!
Myrrat-Sade chapter 1 . 10/15/2014
Another masterful, hilarious, and multilayered work from this author. Expect to read it 2-3 times to *get* it all - and that's the joy (or one of them). Severus here is perfect - sarcasm, wit, and ego bruises all on display. Lovely!
darkdranzer chapter 1 . 10/5/2014
lol! so severus published a book of all the curses and countercurses to the new spells?
hwyla chapter 1 . 6/7/2014
I have to ask... "smott guy"... Do you read Girl Genius by any chance? Of course you might have gotten it from somewhere else...

So much to love in this piece, but I had to read it several times to catch things. I feel a bit dense, but it took me awhile to realize they all sit together to compete at the crossword puzzle! I love this! It shows the friendly side of all the teachers that most kids never notice. It shows so rarely in canon, too. Don't know if you ever read Excessively Perky's "The Birthday Present", but her touch of Snape and Minerva doing the 'latin' crossword together every Sunday was one of my little favorite bits - even tho' it comes out in that story as quite an angsty bit.

I also love the way you have SectumSempra invented. You might actually convince me that Snape really did invent it.

I know many disagree with me and many have tried to convince me of it, but that notation in his book without ANY working comments and the way JKR wrote his 'supposed' claiming of it to read two ways has always said to me that he read it somewhere and noted it down. Not to mention that when Remus says Snape favored using it, he doesn't say anything about it as a spell that no one else knew or that Snape apparently invented. Sev having 'found' it also makes sense of his apparently thinking Remus or Sirius taught it to Harry when it was cast on Draco.

Nice save by Filius to avoid a blazing row (bi-corn pegasi etc) tho' Snape is correct that they should not have given Minerva a pass on it. Aside from being a lovely bit of distraction, it was sarcastic enough for Snape to feel it was still a bit of a comment against Gryffindors as well as his own too hopeful 'expectations' and a dash of enough ridiculousness to bring in the new thought of Fairy Dust (something that now worries me about Flitwicks use of it for Christmas Trees). I do rather hope that Poppy now goes and has a 'conversation' with Minerva about her lack of oversight of the Gryffs - tho' I doubt it.

As for Slytherin Legends about Slytherins, I'm sure there is more than enough info about the Marauders from that time to make them Slytherin Legends as well - especially considering YOUR story where Narcissa and Evan begin the letter writing campaign!

Also love the last line about genies, monkey paws and Slytherins. But especially love Professor Viridian's book. I have always wondered if it might have been written by Sev!
duj chapter 1 . 6/5/2014
She/they did ask for it...
LittleBabyDamien chapter 1 . 6/2/2014
As always, your use of the language goes above and beyond! I love how your stories unfold a little at a time, and that I need to think about it and pay attention so as not to miss anything! And the way you work so many layers into what, at first glance, might be just another simple little story. I will definitely read this more than once!
Stromsten chapter 1 . 6/2/2014
Oh, well done! I nearly expected Severus to claim that he had a cunning plan...
Very Small Prophet chapter 1 . 6/2/2014
Yes, go see The Mikado, which has nothing whatsoever to do with Japan and everything to do with England. Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society, July 11 through 26, at the Bagley-Wright Theatre (aka the Seattle Rep). I've been doing rehearsal sketches, and I'll be there for every performance, helping with the in-house video. The Japanese equivalent of "Hear, hear, hear!"
