...I don’t know why I’m reading this. After watching the newer episodes of Fairy Tail...I was going to never read this story again.
But then I saw his past...he suffered like Zeref. So...I can forgive what he did to some level.

I have been loving this fanfic so far, I just adore how creative and how good you are with words. I love a fanfic that differs from the original anime shows plot, it's very interesting to see how other people would envision this anime and make it their very own. Keep on writing, who knows maybe you could one day help with the anime or start writing books. You have an AMAZING talent.

Well, I can say I stumbled across this story via unconventional means. A guest reviewer that goes by the name: FairyTail islife. Who had gone and bashed rudely on CoLu week for my friends and fellow authors, DragonsHost and GemNika. I was not happy about it.

This reviewer posted this, and I quote: "Yes, I do feel bad for Acnologia about 5% of the time. Then the rest of the 95% of I remember every awful thing he did. I'm 50-50 AcnoLu. Check out the story, 'Acnologia, my childhood friend.' It's great." End quote.

This was after bashing one of those two authors with some nasty reviews. So, we all decided to look the story up. Read the description. It had us leery, quite a bit. But, me being me, I gave it a chance and read through it all in a day and a half. (Had to break for sleep before triggering my insomnia on a horrific level)

I was afraid that this was overpowered Lucy, give her everything, and make her guild bash her fic. But as I read, I realized that you had layers of plots. It kept me going. And at times it was a bit of a tedious task to read through the long, drawn-out part (IE the training) there was decent character growth over time. (I liked you didn't cram it into a week to a month. That stuff bugs me.)

As Acno and Lu grew closer faster, I felt concerned, then reminded myself that it took the better part of 7 years. And that Lucy would always be on the 'weaker' end of the deal due to Gender. A realistic factor you put in, and always talked about in the Author's Notes at the beginning and end of the chapters. It was a nice breather.

Through all the plot twist, I was thinking at one point that somehow Jude went nuts, acquired a powerful artifact, and was the bad guy. Totally not recalling the hints dropped about Lucy's mother's father and other things how he made Doranbolt/Mest into a villain. And the unique OC's based on you and your beta. Which, I will be frank, I cringed when I read that. First thought was great, overpowered Mary Sue! But no, you surprised me.

I am adding this to my Fav list to read again at a later date when I am procrastinating working my own stories, the edits for my novel being published, and want an excellent, good long read. I hope that you are still writing your stories and trekking through the field that is FanFiction. I will be telling my friends that this was a good story and that they should try to give it a try at some time.

And if you don't mind, a few critiques? When writing paragraphs, I get why you used the bold text, but that does hurt the eyes a bit. I did it a lot back in the day when I first started writing Fanfiction Circa 2008-2012 before I got my beta in the amazing Leoslady4ever and LittlePrincessNana. And when talking occurs, making them stand alone sections with a small prior or after reception of reaction from the speaker. These are all things I have learned in my writing.

Otherwise, you have proper flow, great layering of the story to keep your readers. And it shows. Either way, good job and happy energy for you in the ether.

Just wanted to say this was an amazing story and couldn’t have had a better ending. Sad though that it HAD to end. Hate Cana and Freed together bu otherwise this story was great. I thought the ‘bug’ was Doranbolt. Clad is was wrong. Still hate Jude though. But still very sad about were some of the dragons ended up. Love that beautiful mind of urs.

I absolutely loved this chapter. Especially what the grandbitch went through and him being killed. Although I had my doubts they would ACTUALLY do it.

I don’t know why but when was about to ‘die’ it reminded me of a fic I read a while ago. Everyone in FairyTail died. It pissed me off and made me so DAMN SAD!
