I would love to see someone do a Reality vs. Beckett-land for this episode:

For a *good* investigator (which Beckett has always been touted to be), I would expect the first step to be making everyone believe you bought the cover-up. That means going to work, coming home to your husband, maintain the status quo in an attempt to let the heat die down and then start digging quietly. But, if Always and Beckett's comic Superhero-style pursuit of Maddox tells us anything, Beckett absolutely fails at the covert and the subtle when it comes to anything remotely personal.

What *should* happen following 8x02 is this:

A peon set to observe Beckett for whether or not she bought the cover-up reports that Beckett has left her home and checked into a hotel/is staying with her father/Lanie. Closer observation is ordered and shows her moving many of her things out of the loft. Based on her history, which I would expect Bracken to have well documented, it is assumed that the cover-up failed. Since Beckett has shot the tiger with a BB gun, because she's shown her hand without having even a starting point to investigate from, orders are put out. This person is more wary and less public than Bracken, so anyone Beckett might have confided in starts turning up dead, car accidents, house fires, all things that could argued as unrelated... Maddie, O'Leary, Sorenson, Josh, Demming, Meredith, Gina, Evelyn Montgomery, Gates, Jenny, little Sarah, Ryan, Esposito, Lanie, Jim, Martha, Alexis, heck could even through in Rita and Hunt... and finally Beckett herself. Or, inversely, Beckett can be shot in the head as soon as it's confirmed she acted out of character and therefore must be investigating, followed by anyone who looks too closely at her case. Either of these can have the side benefit of allowing an actors who want to end ties with the show an 'out', even Katic herself as she purportedly wanted at the end of season 7.

Another lesson from Rita... Seperation just make you horny Beckett. Take the opportunity to restart the clock. Then ditch him anyway. Honestly, completely believable for the Beckett character; and this would wreck Castle even more than just leaving. But she doesn't care about that.

I loved it. Thank you for this! I have faith in the writers and I can't wait to see what happens.

For what it's worth, I love your story. Don't let the ignorance of others stop you from writing. If I'd have done that when I first started with Gilmore Girls, then I wouldn't be here almost 10 years later.
