Reviews for Their Last Vows
joycelyn.o.ting chapter 1 . 5/1/2016
Delightful. What a pleasure it was reading this, I really love the conversation between the two burdened elder brothers. :) It felt real, relatable, deep and utterly heartbreaking. Theodore Holmes though, now him I'm really confused about. What exactly happened to him and where is he now? Couldn't figure that out from the story itself. :/ Brilliant one-shot, I really enjoyed it! c:

Well, if "double cannon" (one from each storyline) puts these characters knocking about at the same time in the same city, it's not unreasonable that they might bump into each other... And who knows what might happen. Thanks for imaging this!

Interesting compare and contrast for two beleaguered older brothers. And the "other one"...

Ah, my friend, who, pray tell, are you casting for Theodore, with his "ginger curls and big blue eyes"...hmmmmm?

Hello! Well, This was truly enjoyable. How fun! Amazing combination and flawless. How dear and, dare I say it, cathartic.

Such a perfect encounter between Mycroft and Thor...amazing similarities between them...you did a great job! I really enjoyed it! (I'm glad you ran with that photomanip of them at the cafe as inspiration and also included bits from Alydia's Fallen Star universe!) Wonderful! :)
Lady Winterlight chapter 1 . 7/11/2014
I like this! I like it a lot! I'm not current on Sherlock, but I think you've got the characters pretty spot on! And as an elder sibling myself, I can relate to a lot of this - though not quite to these extremes. :) Very nice.

And thank you for the lovely dedication. I'm glad to have been able to write something you enjoyed so much, and I appreciate you sharing this one with me. :)
christy68 chapter 1 . 7/11/2014
As a fan of both 'worlds', I enjoyed this immensely! I felt as though I was there listening from the next table. I love Mycroft's lack of reaction after finding out the identity of Thor, who he had recognized from SOMEWHERE; nevermind that the 'somewhere' was world-wide news during an alien invasion. So like him to be low-key (ha) and fit it in with the rest of his head files, even relating the irony to his upcoming meeting. This was awesome, well-written, original and in character.
Alydia Rackham chapter 1 . 7/11/2014
Oh, my dear-it's SPLENDID! I just adore it! You have Mycroft's voice down PAT-absolutely. Complete with using several words I do not know, haha! I loved listening in on his meticulous, calculated thoughts, and I was transported into the cafe with no trouble at all. I could hear the rain, smell the drinks, and see both men perfectly. I loved the mannerisms you used to portray emotions, and the deductions Mycroft made as a result of so closely watching Thor. It was also fascinating that two so VERY different men have had such similar experiences with their siblings! The thought also occurred to me that Mycroft is much like Loki-in his brilliance, his guarded-ness, his perception, his sarcasm. Perhaps this is the reason, though it is unconscious, that Thor easily opened up to him. And perhaps Mycroft and Loki's personality are complimented by a personality like Thor's-they need each other to bring out the truth in each other. You also did an excellent job with Thor's voice! I could hear him and see him so clearly. And I was so intrigued and glad that you had him dressed as a Midgardian, to make it a bit more work for Mycroft to figure out who he was. All around, BRILLIANT and EXCELLENT. I will be re-reading it, just for the pleasure of watching your wordsmanship unfold again :)
