This is refreshingly hysterical. There is a fine line between parody that comes across as stupid-funny and parody that ventures into the Douglass Adams territory. I don't know how, but you've somehow managed to come out in the latter category. You had me sitting here laughing throughout the entire first chapter. And you certainly didn't need your disclaimer (that you normally write better than this) because it shines through quite clearly. It takes a great writer to write so poorly. And even though the plot is intentionally ridiculous, the skill with which it was written is ever-present. Kudos! Can't wait to read more.
