Reviews for A Second Chance
Krysta Farrell chapter 26 . 8/25/2018
Thre endings of all your stories always make me smile and it warms my heart. I can tell that you value family, especially with what you've done for the family member struggling with alcohol addiction. I'm praying that this person will want to change for themselves, to make their life better. That is the ultimate reason that anyone should have in wanting to turn their lives around. If someone changes for everyone else but has no desire to help themselves, it usually backfires. It may sound selfish, but it's the way these things work. Remember that there is always hope. It the most aggravating but most selfless thing that you're doing for this person, and I commend your efforts. If you're having a hard time dealing with all of this, there are support groups out there geared towards helping family members and friends of people struggling with addiction and alcoholism. Don't be afraid to ask for help; it's a monumental task you've taken on and no one can do it alone. Lean on the support of others to help relieve you of the burden. Remember that the Universe was created in six days, and the seventh was used for rest and recuperation. Sleep well, eat well and be sure to treat yourself to an indulgence every day, no matter how big or small. If you're suffering from burnout, you will be of no help to the one who needs it. I'm keeping this person, you and your family in prayer!

I truly loved this story! I'm absolutely amazed when reading each and every one of them at the talent you have for writing and helping the story flow! I hope to see some new ones in the future!

Sending you hugs, prayers, peace, love and light!
Krysta Farrell chapter 21 . 8/23/2018
I'm so sorry to hear about the family member who is suffering from alcohol addiction. My cousins had some family members die on their dad's side as a result of a drink driver about thirty years ago. They were devastated. My PSA is: NEVER drink and drive! It will only result in tragedy. There is help out there if anyone develops an addiction to the stuff. It's a very, very hard road, but remember that the night is darkest just before the dawn. There is always hope as long as you still draw breath.

Back on topic, I LOVE this story! That Blackwing virus is no joke! I'm so glad that Luke and Mara didn't contract it! That healing trance definitely saved their lives, and they discovered a veritable fountain of youth, in a milder form anyway. I hope that any children they conceive won't suffer any ill effects from their exposure to whatever it was that mutated their genes!

Wonderful job, and as always there's just the right amount of humour and snark. Btw, I spell moustache the British way, along with some other words, here and there. I love how you've softened Mara's attitude in this fic. She had never received the emperor's Last Command to kill Luke and the emperor betrayed her trust, so she has no lingering hatred for him, she's just pissed at palpatine for making her life miserable. And as for Vader physically breaking Mara and her teenage love apart, that burns me up considering that when he was Anakin, he was with Padmé so he knew what being in love was like. Kriffin' Palpatine! Yeah I know I took that line from your Second to None fics, lol!
Anyway, I'm eagerly gonna finish reading this and move on to your other fics. I've read most of them and they're all superbly written! You should consider writing a pro fic or two! It's refreshing to read your stories because Luke actually acts like a human being with a personality!

Omg, now THAT was creepy, and horrifying! I hope Luke and Mara will be able to get the help they need before it's too late! Great story, totally into it. So into it that I jumped when I heard a door slam in our apartment building, lol! Totally gave me chills down my spine! I can't wait to read the rest!

It's a good fic, but Mara felt a little too...sweet. She needed to snark more, like Zahn's Mara does. More sarcasm. Do remember one of the reasons she's so good for him is that she's fiercely independent, very strong, and more then willing to put Luke in his place. And he loves her for it, as well he should.
Eradyne chapter 26 . 11/16/2014
Loved it! Great story as always
Eradyne chapter 25 . 11/16/2014
Jacen is so irascible lol. Glad that Luke and Mara are enjoying their well earned bliss

stormwolf3710 chapter 26 . 11/16/2014
Great chapter and great ending. Also the states secrets line was funny to me. I mean a solo/skywalker/antillies get to gather would be like what a quarter of the republics top people.

Hehe, so much for soundproof walls! :D

Another fun read

Great chapter loved it. And i needed something to raise my mood after hearing a rumor that they are having luke be a hermit who never did anything for 30 years after Endor.
OfficerDonNZ chapter 24 . 11/9/2014
Aww. :) Well let's hope Mara's room has good sound proofing ;) Ahem :D

Hehe the awkward talk about babies/family. Yeah family linage could be a pain. Though I think some of Luke and Leia's close friends know the truth but also know to keep it under their hats :)

Can't be much more to go now.
OfficerDonNZ chapter 23 . 10/28/2014
YAY! Another chapter :) Guess RL has been a right pain huh?

Anyway good to see Luke pull the rug from under the other Jedi :) And I can see Han being VERY overbearing when it comes to his only daughter ;) With him being a former smuggler and ladies man he knows what to look for :D Though Lando was more the ladies man than Han.

Luke's interview didn't go too badly. Can't be much more to go now though.
