I loved this! really well-written :) A lot of stories usually have his parents passing on while he's still at Hogwarts...but this way is so much more heartbreaking aw poor James :(
Just one little thing though, you should add a space before the long hyphens; like at the end, it should be "And so they sat next to each other for a long time - she holding..."
