Fuuuuckkkk in Heerrckk. You wssted it Soma!

Okay, possible monster review coming (do reviews have character limits?) but as this is my only review for this story (due to bingereading it all at once) I do have a lot to cover.

Where to begin? You write exceptionally enjoyable romance stories! I'd go so far as to say perfect in my personal opinion. You balanced it perfectly between when they fall in love and get together - doesn't happen immediately and feel rushed, nor does it drag on and on like some annoying cliche. The way you wrote them interracting? More romantic then we got to see in the manga, but without turning them into completely different characters? Of course this is fanfiction so there's nothing wrong with an author adding personal changes to characters, but it's always great to have your characters be true to how you became a fan of them.

Something I greatly admire you for is both in the story and in one of your AN (I forget where though) where you show that a romance story can actually be about the two characters falling in love and facing challenges as a couple without some third party or superficial misunderstanding causing chapters and chapters of angst. I get depressed sometimes reading a romance story with this amazing couple and then suddenly a new character appears and causes so much conflict so easily that even after the main couple get back together/resolve their problems the relationships seem.. less than it was. Although I have to say on the subject of angst (although I hate that word since most angst fics seem forced; emotional seems more fitting) the way you handled Erina explaining her past with Azami? Chills man. The moment of bonding afterwards? That entire scene actually? Some of the best romance I've read! And I only write romance - granted it's only connected one-shots from the Miraculous Ladybug fandom, but they are mostly romance focused. Almost want to retire from the genre!

Overall I do enjoy your other couples - both official and implied, as well as the way you wrote people reacting to Saiba as well as him and Soma being related. Love the scenes with Soma and Rindou though; their personalities always made me feel that they'd be able to get along great, and no one really ever touches on it, Many of your original characters were so well-written I sometimes believed they were merely actual characters whose names I had forgotten! As a bit of a tangent, I have similar conflicting feelings about the ending of the manga, but it is something of an issue I have across al fiction platforms - endings are hard to get right. Take for example the manga ReLife - it had an excellent ending which still makes me happy to read versus endings that can almost cripple a show's memories (which was totally not a shot at Game of Thrones; nope, not at all). Your story has a sequel (which I am following, but will wait to read until completion; gotta savour stuff as good as this!) and yet this current one has a decent enough ending that I could live without one.

About 3 chapters into this I actually checked your profile for any other stories, as simply reading one romance of this quality wouldn't be enough, though sadly I don't know the fandom for most of those. Alas! Actually think this is the first Food Wars story I finished.

So looong review coming to a conclusion (doesn't seem like there is a character limit so far) this was a great read and I feel kinda empty inside now that I'm done and to paraphrase an iconic song - You've got a fan in me!

The last few chapters have been a rollercoaster of emotion, and this is how this chapter ends? When the buddy sent his text, I ALMOST THREW THE CHAIR THROUGH THE WINDOW. But now I'm calm. This story is different than most, but I think that's a good thing. It's an enjoyable read.

Rereading this story after some time and the scene with Soma and Ishiki almost brought tears to my eyes on how much Ishiki loves his Polar Star Dorm family. What exactly happened in the summer of 59 anyway and what is the summer of 59?

Omg that’s a major power couple moment! Soma just knowing Erina will be behind him and holding his hand out for her. Love it!

I've read this story what... three times by now? and I either already left a review, in which case I'm sorry for probably repeating myself over and over; or I never did, in which case I can only apologise for being a lazy dumbass.
I absolutely adore this story. To a point of me not sleeping for two days straight just to read this. It's absolutely remarkable how spot-on most characters are, especially both Soma and Erina, accommodating for the changes to canon of course; and the way you write is amazing. How you manage to keep the excitement and tension at a high level while simultaneously writing the funniest lines (the "what can he offer that i don't?Height?" between Kuga and Nene cracked me up at 4 in the night and I laughed so loud I almost woke up my boyfriend, even though he sleeps like a fucking stone.) and I hope you're okay with me taking some of those lines and adding them to my "brilliant fanfiction lines"-door.
And the romance... ohhhhh boy. ooooh boy. how amazing was that. how BRILLIANT. Jesus. Erina and Soma's relationship is already cute as fuck in Canon, but this romance-focussed story is all i ever needed for a shipper-heart like me. The fact that my Queen Erina is still exactly thatthe Queenmakes it even better, and it's so adorable to see that Soma takes her exactly for what she is and treats her as such.
I am very excited to start the sequel, to see how they progress in their relationship and to have them fight and overcome the next obstacle together.
(that also goes for Isshiki and Nene. i shipped them in canon, at least a bit, but i read that and was like HOW ARE THEY SO ADORABLE GET THEM TOGETHER PLEASE; So i Don't know if that was even your plan, but if it was, you definitely have me routing for that.)

I waited for the story to be done before I left another review since I got caught up in other stuff. This was a VERY great story and it felt like you had such a good grasp of the characters it felt like I was watching the series proper. I feel amazed when you mention how Shokugeki no Souma helped you pick a career path. It shows how impactful series like this, anime/manga, can be on people. I look forward to reading Cliassique.

Also, the foodgasams from the final arc were hilarious. You were able to fit in Brook from one-piece, turned Eizen into Truth from Full metal Alchemist, and while emotional the judges just stopping to function in the final fight was really funny.
