Ironically nuclear weapons would by abysmal at dealing with grimm.
You clear out a square mile of land of grimm sure. You also render that area uninhabitable until you clear it up. And grimm will refill it anyway. You'd have to nuke the surface of the entire planet.
The only time it would ever be useful is for monstrous grimm like the leviathan or which would probobly be damn near impossible to defeat be conventional means.

It'd be far better as an alternative power source so more dust can be used as ammunition and such instead. Infinitely more efficient.

On the side note to think RWBY, an anime-styled show, reached Pro-Russian Rebels is kind of hilarious.

Tried reading this it was good at first, but I lost interest for whatever reason. It did give me inspiration for something though.

One thing I've noticed is that RWBY and Familiar of Zero have a lot of similarities. Both have populations that are smale and don't go beyond the millions. Both haven't fully explorered their own world. Both have unusual Moons. Both have monsters of some sort. Although vampires in Foz aren't always evil, they can be and orcs raid villages. They both have a wizard given power by a god, Brimir and Ozpin. Both wizards passed on that power to others, the four maidens and the 4 void mages with 4 human familiars. They both have elemental stones, in Remnant dust, and Halkeginia firestones, waterstones, earthstones and windstones. Both use that to make airships. Both lack the industrial capacity of earth but are more advanced in certain ways, and both have a world ending Crisis, in Remnant the grimm, and Halkeginia the shakening that giant spirit does that would kill all humans. In some ways the mages are weaker than aura users, but their magic can do things that aura can't and semblances do one thing. Depending on how it was done, a crossover between the two could be pretty interesting.

Uuh, I just realised, dust doesn't work outside remnants atmosphere, would it even work on earth? Semblance and aura would, but the only explanation for dust would be earth having supernatural entities. Like demons and gods.

Does Blake count as a Nekomata or cat God? Will she get worshipped or will priests try to exorcise her?

Okay, have to make a statement here:

Vale's military would get rolled over like Iraq's did in 2003 by the Armed Forces of a major power like the US or Russia. The training of their common infantry are noticeable subpar when compared to US counterparts, and from everything seen they seem to have a complete lack of understanding when it comes to Combined Arms warfare. And with the sole exception of autonomous robot soldiers, the US, Russia, and EU have a significant technological edge.

Also, something else that's been bugging me throughout this story... the common people in the RWBY universe are NOT significantly stronger in any way than normal irl Humans. Biologically, people in RWBY have been shown to be just as weak as normal people without the aid of their auras to protect them. We've seen this in the show - people who either have their aura drained or haven't unlocked it are easily killed by firearms and the like. Furthermore, only Hunters and Huntresses have an aura significant enough to be used in combat.

You are making the people of the RWBY universe a but too strong in this fic.

Another thing I like is how globally spanning this story is. Most stories keep the plot within a single country (the insert character's home nation, typically), especially stories similar to this one. Also, as someone who was heavily invested with the Ukraine Crisis and kept constant track of the events in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine when it was all going down that first year, this is incredibly interesting to me.

Descriptive writing needs some work, but dialogue is straight up Grade-A. For real, the dialogue so far is quite possibly the best I've seen on this site, and hell it's even better than some highly rated published novels I've read.
