Jon and Ygritte were by far my favourite couple on GOT and their ending was so bittersweet that I just had to seek out some fanfiction that provided a happier ending to their story. However, this story just isn't for me.

Your writing lacks in detail and is very dominated by short sentences that describe the character's actions, with very little emotion or depth beyond that. However, this does mean your writing is easy to follow and to the point, which is a definite positive. Also, everyone has their own preferences and lots of readers don't want/need unnecessary details, so this is just coming from a completely subjective stand-point. Your writing is good, as is your use of spelling and grammar and your writing is easy to follow and to the point.

The main issue why I couldn't get past chapter 1 with this story is the fact that it was so OOC. I mean, Jon and Ygritte skipped out on one of the biggest and most important battle's of their lives to have a quick fumble. That would just never in a million years happen. Jon Snow is a man of the Night's Watch and is one of the most honorable, respectable and fierce warriors. He would never step away from a fight or abandon his brothers at a time like that. Likewise, Ygritte was a Wilding, with fire in her blood and would've stood and fought until the very end. No matter how relieved they were to see each other or how much they loved each other, they just wouldn't have done that. The type of people they are means they would've put personal feelings and love aside to do the right thing and fight. So that's my reason for not being able to move forward with this story and again, is a completely personal preference.

Still, it's great that you wrote an alternate and happier ending to Jon and Ygritte's story, because they certainly deserved it and a lot of fans are grateful that you provided it for them.

First of all, good job. Second, what's the baby's name? No offence but you have to give us a little more detail. Other than that I think you are a great writer. Keep going and do what you believe in.

This is my first GoT/ASoI&F fanfic I've read, and I'd say I chose a good one to start with, since I love Jon/Ygritte. This is an interesting "what if" scenario that I hope proves to keep me invested. Nice work so far.

this made me happy i just finished episode 9 of season 4 and i was heart broken i want to read more now since jon snow and ygrette are my favorite characters i want to know what happens to them and their child do they ever get discovered by white walkers? ugh this show has me in tears
