That was a truly beautiful story. I loved the movie ( I'm a compleatly dedicated Jack Davenport fangirl) and this interpretation of the ending (IMO, how it should have been) made me tear up. keep up the amazing writing!

See, now that is a perfectly workable ending! Didn't have to tell about the murder but still told some sort of truth and Peter gets to live! Why couldn't we have had this? Oh yeah cause its a happy ending. Bah! Well, I liked it! very nicely done.

Oh, the loveliness! I dunno whether this is really what Tom deserves but i don't really care as long as my darling beautiful peter is ok! *cries at memory of him dying*. I always thought that the ending in the film was quite appropriate and rather chilling, as it really emphasised tom's inhumanity, as he couldn't really love and could just keep on killing, but in my heart of hearts i knew i really wanted something a little more fluffy...i.e. THIS.

Lovely, really. Anything which saves Jack Davenport's life is A-Ok with me.

oh gods! thank you! thank you so much. how i wish this was the ending for ripley and peter. I LOVE THE PAIRING so much. i have seen the film and i was left really devastated how could tom kill this beautiful charming sweet darling peter to think he was falling for him too? argh! pain! pain! but i will keep this fic in mind whenever i angst over the 'real' ending of that film. heh!

Yeah, that's good ... Well, I guess this sort of ending would not have fit the rest of the film, but who cares about that ;) It's a lot better this way ... having Peter alive and all ... although he doesn't deserve having a murderer and liar as his lover, but well ... he's happy this way, so let's just hope he will never open the hidden rooms in Tom's past ... could be a shock ;)

This end is so much better than the end of the film! Your writing left me nearly crying, because Peter is safe and not dead and Tom loves him really. I don't think Tom deserves to be happy, but Peter does, of course!

Don't know if Tom deserved a happy ending, but when I saw the movie I kept going, 'why oh why did he have to kill Peter?' My Catholic-raised mother was even asking that. She wanted him with Peter too. What does that say?
